Thanks guys, much appreciated. It's hard to save up for a wedding AND survive the number of very pretty Spydies that seem to be coming out every second day! Deacon -- thanks for the clarification; as always, your generously shared knowledge adds tremendously to these fora.

Pekka Puuko Question

Hey guys,

Can someone clarify for me if the Pekka Puuko is going to be a production or a fixed-number run? I need to balance my purchases, and if I have more time for the puuko, or less, I will need to balance my priorities (or mug someone).

Thanks for any info.

Hey DRKBC, Since you're in BC, you can get the doublestuff at Warriors and Wonders or the DC3 or DC4 at Bushcraft Canada, as mentioned and linked to above. Two other portable options are a leather strop and compound from Lee Valley, or a mousepad and some wet/dry sandpaper. I get my sandpaper from K...

Jay, with respect I am not a fan of the line "lesser knives" and "unnecessary clutter." The majority of my knives are Spyderco, but I have great respect and more than a few of those "lesser knives" in my collection. Emerson's wave feature is elegant; apparently Spyderco...

Bolster -- my guess is cutting bagels. My only spydie cut came when someone I asked not to touch my collection decided I was kidding. He then tried a spydie drop to impress me, since he'd seen it on youtube. He slipped, the knife flew into my leg and cut my jeans badly, my leg less so. Can you guess...

Does anyone know anything about the tang? Full tang? Skeletonized? This looks like it'll be a fast and light slicing machine!

Last year was so expensive because so many great models came out...this year I might have to sell the cat. Anyone want to buy a cat? He cuddles nicely even if he is a bit...bitey. Now what else do I have around here to sell...furniture? Is it ok to have a really nice Spyderco collection if you're li...

To add a third perspective on the discussion between Suzie and Blerv (Germany/USA) as a Canadian, I am often surprised by how restrictive US knife laws are (in Canada the knife laws are very relaxed) compared to what I see as very permissive US gun laws (in Canada guns are much more heavily regulate...

Hey Sequimite,

I appreciate your frustration. I think my post a couple above this last one might be helpful and hopefully persuasive, given my experience. Have a great day!

Hey guys, just my two cents as a lawyer practicing in Vancouver who worked for a short while earlier in my career as a provincial prosecutor in Vancouver as well. Without any misbehaviour on the original poster's behalf, the knife should not have been confiscated. However, given the situation in whi...

I originally decided to pass...then I held one. What a fantastic knife! It has earned a place in my pocket, sometimes at the expense of my militaries, para2, ppt, stretch and sages. It took me a while, but once I warmed up to it, it became a favourite.

This thread makes me happy. My interest is certainly on the "woods" tomahawk rather than the tactical, but if Mr Janich is involved (and Kristi) then no doubt I will want the "tactical" one too. But oh my my....please don't forget about us backwoods types! A smaller, lighter alte...

+1. I would like to see the system throw out any lawyer who is spinning tales to the uneducated peers. Course I suspect that said lawyer would say, "it's just our job". Sounds just like, we were just following orders. Lives are lost based on these excuses. I sincerely hope that you are no...

Gorgeous knife. I had a weird relationship with the stretch -- I never liked the looks of it but I knew people (Deacon especially) loved it. So I picked up the FRN ZDP stretch. A couple of days in my pocket and I was in love. Now it gets regular pocket time, fighting (often successfully!) for pocket...
