Re: A Tip For Cleaning Sharpmaker Stones
Interestingly, I just looked around for some official wordage on the cleaning process, as I'm sure I've read Spyderco themselves say: all of our stones are machine washable (may only apply to larger benchstones) and, "To clean: wash with fresh water and scrub metal particles from the stones wit...

Thank you! Probably my best dye job yet. Sapphire RIT took very well to the BHQ Mint. I was very tempted, initially, to pick up some RGT scales but that blue is just so nice.

You've got that backwards. Robin was even honest and humble enough to suggest his edge damage was due to operator error, and yet you persisted. Unreal.

Re: What knife makes you smile whenever you carry it?
As a new crappy freehander, anything I take down to 10DPS is currently making me smile. Doesn't really matter which steel any more. They all produce a "wow!" signal effect because I'm used to 15DPS. The other day I went to touch something up on the sharpmaker and I was unimpressed with the...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
So will they! Fair play, they sure will! To Salty and mikey and all those who are manbugless: I encourage it for all. My old man was in shipping and receiving for a long time, and he'd carry a Buck 425 "MiniBuck" in his watch pocket, and throw it away when it became too adhesive damaged a...

Re: Unpopular opinions
I don't like the compression lock (wrote in detail as to why elsewhere). Yes, the backlock is the best. All FRN models should have PB washers (some have nothing at all). I think Spyderco should reshore the production from China. apologies for my newb question but what's PB stand for? I'm assuming t...

Re: Community Sharpening Journal
In one of my previous posts I had so much praise for the Spyderco Medium benchstone that I theorized I might "skip the Fine and head straight to Ultra-Fine!" as my next stone from Spyderco, but alas, foot-in-mouth disease strikes again, or I irritated the Out-Loud Gods, and here I am retra...

Re: 2024 Official Discontinued List
this should open up production for new models and maybe upgraded versions of popular model (I am looking at you Seki and your Cruwear Gray G10 combos). It's very attractive. Delica and perhaps HP Delica would go great! G10 Dragonfly! Whew. But I do know none of them cared for my K390 Endela when I ...

Re: Why carry two?
It's pretty rare that I carry two, but when I do it's mostly the "one for me, one for them" line of thought. Also discovering lately that two Manbugs (salt and leaf) in a watch pocket of jeans is a pretty alright alternative when I want to carry nothin' at all (cue Flanders), while still o...

Re: Spyderco SWAG?
Here's what we got in the way of explanation. Basically, the maker of H1 is no longer willing or able to make it. The May 2022 issue of Spyderco Byte includes upgrade of H-1 to H-2 stainless steel. Due to dynamic changes in the Japanese steel industry, H-1 will no longer be produced. Current invento...

Re: Spyderco SWAG?
What's the difference between H1 and H2? The intent is for little to no difference at all. Haven't seen anyone saying it acts drastically different, and if Spyderco was less honest I bet they coulda just kept calling it H1 and who knows if we ever would have found out. On the bright side, H2 is eas...
