Re: Waterproof knives

I think the term would be extremely saltwater resistant because 100% water proof probably doesn't exist. My earliest are Boker H&K with X15TN steel, Benchmade Triage with N680 steel and Magnum Titan Submariner ALL titanium fixed blade dive knife (one piece titanium with no screws). I also have ...

Re: Anyone want to see Vanax in the salt series?

I think it's just wrong that Spyderco, the leader in steels for knives, is not producing a vanax salt series. I would like to design a knife and have them evaluate it for production. If a guy from California can take to market a vanax folding knife, Spyderco can do it better and cheaper, for sure.

Re: Spymyto is hot!

SpyMyto has a run of 2000 pieces so there should be plenty to go around. Hello, RamZar, I am curious how you found this out? It was mentioned by Eric Glesser of Spyderco in a SHOT Show video: https://youtu.be/e2GOsed_NCM&t=14m22s I saw the video. Thanks man! Its fun to watch Eric G. explain the...

Report: After opening and closing the new Salt Manix maybe a hundred times while watching Jack Nicholson in Chinatown , the Salt Manix now feels like...opens & closes like...my other LW Manixes. Even drop-shuts now. Must have been that Nicholson magic. You remember this scene, it's where the ch...

Re: best sharpening for LC200N = advice?

Thanks for the advice guys. Ive tried 20 dps 400/3000 dual grit and that doubled the life of the sharpness, but didn't get it hair shaving sharp. This was by hand I just tried a guided system. 16 dps at 600 grit, and hair shaving sharp. lets see how the edge holds up. if it doesnt, then Im trying yo...

Re: Gotta rethink my hunting/gutting knife…S110V FAIL!

Finally got the time to reprofile and sharpen the chipped up S110V. The chips were ground out quite easily. I won’t be using this knife for any further game processing. I think it’s time to gain the courage to actually use my S90V Shaman for game cleaning purposes. I think it’s built for it. https:...

Re: Gotta rethink my hunting/gutting knife…S110V FAIL!

I did 3 deer without sharpening with my mule team in rwl 34. Cut the hind legs off any the ball joint (lots of scary edge to bone noises). Cut through the sternum all the way. And finally cut the heads off at the base of the skull. Lots of bone to edge contact. No chipping. No rolling. Shaving shar...

Re: Gotta rethink my hunting/gutting knife…S110V FAIL!

https://youtu.be/a2bo23n16tI Check out this video for skinning and quartering a deer in 10 minutes. He's using a Spyderco Moran by the way. I'm not saying this is the absolute best way, but it sure is fast. I do a variation of this on my southern whitetails, but take a little extra time and save th...

I'm not flush with money to burn but hope that we have not seen the end of Native Chief model.
