Re: Reveal 17 - LIVE!

I wanna know how people feel about the number of lionstreel designs being spyderized ? I really don't adhere to it, I know that one is not supposed to buy the whole Spyderco line-up, but I'm still having trouble reconciliating lionsteel's production and Spyderco's style of knifemaking. In my ...

Re: What are you having for Christmas dinner or lunch?

I was invited to have dinner and then lunch (christmas eve and then christmas) at an italian family's home. dinner was various seafood plates and pasta (spaghetti w/o the sauce) and lunch was lasagna. And its true what they say about italians... they keep feeding you... it was a beautiful christmas ...

Re: Spyderco Salt "Ink Bleed" from black coated parts

counterfeit or faulty workmanship on that particular piece... either way, looking forward to results of sending it back... did you call them?

Certainly one issue of the coated hardware is that it does "come off" with time and use. I know they have been experimenting with a new coat, but none-the ...

Re: Corrosion Reports

I decided to see if I could even it out by forcing a patina. I just don't like the uneven patinas because in the past it have kind of mistaken grime for patina and thought the blade was "clean" when it really wasn't.

So I used some Rust-Oleum rust remover gel. It's pretty much just phosphoric ...

Wish i had known about this thread before the last time i cleaned my knife, but heres my Lc200N pacific salt. One of my jobs is that I do fly fishing charters on the ocean and this was my knife i carried every single charter all year. Got sprayed with salt everyday, went underwater a lot, and ...

Re: Corrosion Reports

I pulled apart my K390 Endura today to put some new scales on it and just as Vivi reported with his Police 4, the stainless liners had more corrosion than the blade. Weird.

Re: Spymyto is hot!

I love that Spyderco numbers the flash batch knives. I think the prospect of getting a cool serial number is something fun to chase, kind of like getting a rare trading card in a pack of cards.

Numbers like 0001/2000 or 2000/2000 would be super cool, in my opinion. So many other potential ...

Re: Reveal 15 - Live!

Yes@alphaneuron9, PD#1 is Carpenter's version of Crucible's Cru-Wear. CPM Cru-Wear is my favorite steel so I'm looking forward to comparing them.

Also, I missed earlier Cru-Wear DFly exclusives, and I am never without my DFly K390, so getting one in PD#1 will be great.

If PD#1 sharpens as easily ...

Re: Reveal 15 - Live!

My first reaction was, "yup, yup, yup..." and then I did some math and had to process the fact that I can't buy every single one.

I'm currently telling myself that I will "only" grab, in rough order of my excitement: the DFly PD#1, P4 PD#1, Cru-Wear PE Temperance, both Ti Tenacious, and the M2 ...

These knives are not "centrifugal knives".
As an expert in folding knives, feel free to use this response in the appeal. These knives are not designed for "switch blade like" or centrifugal one hand opening.
The canadian laws are one thing, taking a spyderco catcherman knife at the border is simply ...

Re: Anyone want to see Vanax in the salt series?

My most common stainless steel is actually M390/20CV/204P which balances Corrosion Resistance and Edge Retention very well in small folders. I’m eager to try M398 due to superior edge retention with very good corrosion resistance.

I have m390 and m398, but won't dare take them into the ...

Re: Anyone want to see Vanax in the salt series?

Love to see vanax... I think a dragonfly even lighter with thinner blade stock or a uk penknife/calypso with the same super thin lightweight bladestock would be a winner. In order my steel preference would be vanax, magnacut or Lc200n. The catcherman in Lc200n is fantastic get one if you still can ...

Re: Anyone want to see Vanax in the salt series?

I think it's just wrong that Spyderco, the leader in steels for knives, is not producing a vanax salt series. I would like to design a knife and have them evaluate it for production. If a guy from California can take to market a vanax folding knife, Spyderco can do it better and cheaper, for ...
