Re: Could we ever see a PM3 LW in K390?

I personally like different Spyderco models for different tasks — or rather, for different carry situations — including the Chaparral and the Military family.

As for the Lil’ Temperance 3, this one is quite personal. It wasn’t love at first (online) sight, but after having it for some time, I’ve ...

Re: Could we ever see a PM3 LW in K390?

If the action is not your main priority, Lil temperance 3 in K390 is awesome.

This. I like the Para 3 LW, but I almost always choose the LT3LW in K390 over it if I want to carry a sub-PM2/Yo2 sized folder for work, unless I expect to be cutting a lot of wet/frozen materials (in which case I ...

Re: Discontinued for 2026

Thanks, Spyderco, for keeping the FOMO low this year. I just need to grab the Chaparral RN to go with my Sun & Moon before EU dealers start hiking prices on the discounted models (unlike in the US).

Re: MBC Slipjoint

Nice coincidence — I was on eBay last night and spotted a Spyderco model I’d never paid attention to before: the Terzuola Slipit. What a great design. I watched a few videos and the blade "locks" really secure with the fingers. Now I’m dreaming about a sprint run of the C131CFP!

Re: MBC Slipjoint

Hey Stas, have you considered just filling the Spydie hole with a blob of metal JB Weld? I use it all the time when porting 2 stroke engines and it’s mega easy to get a nice finish on while being extremely strong (especially if you rough up the interior of the hole before filling it in).

That ...

Re: MBC Slipjoint

Mike Janich. Is that Fiskars Hawkbill the K62 ?

If that’s the one, I’m buying two — just out of curiosity.

Been thinking about the easiest way to keep it Spyderco :bug-red-white :
1) Delica Wharncliffe with a two-euro-cent coin welded inside the Spydie hole (how symbolic) — for Germany, where ...

Re: MBC Slipjoint

Another thought on this, something like a Svord Peasant friction folder that has the long tang that folds around into the grip, that makes it really hard for the blade to close while you're gripping the handle. If a design had this plus a strong index finger guard, I still wouldn't say it's ...

Re: MBC Slipjoint

Hey, All:

Thank you for a very interesting discussion.

For the record, the knife I carried was a Fiskars Hawkbill with a swayback-style FRN handle. It was given to me as a gift by Dane Bender, hands down one of the best custom Kydex craftsmen in the world. Unfortunately, I did a search online ...

Re: MBC Slipjoint

This thread got me thinking about it more. Interesting that you mentioned the SlipJimbo — I actually found two models that are available and look pretty promising, in my opinion:
Black Fox Nidhug Tactical Slipjoint (Boker and Lansky had similar designs in the past)
Real Steel Stella (They've got ...

Re: MBC Slipjoint

Nice lineup! I wasn’t aware of those models besides the 3.9060.
I have to admit, this is the first time I’ve seen a Matriarch look less intimidating than a Victorinox :D

Re: MBC Slipjoint

I messed around with the same idea for a bit but gave up. When I travel in Europe I usually bring a proper flashlight — Nitecore EDC25 or 29. I live in the Czech Republic where you can basically walk around with a katana and nobody cares. Cross a border into Germany and only non-one-hand opening ...

Re: Reveal 19 - Live!

My only Spyderco purchases this year were a manbug hawkbill, and 15v native. I've been a diehard spydie fan for a long time. 10 years or so. For pure cutting and edge retention, there is none better. When I have 100 boxes to break down, or a repetitive cutting task, I reach for one of my Spydies ...

Re: Reveal 19 - Live!

I hope the scales on my future M2 Salt look as good as the catalog photos — my Bumblebee PM2 looks like someone thought salt wasn’t enough and sprinkled a bit of black pepper on it :D

Also, dreaming about a Bumblebee Shaman Salt… those contoured scales would look amazing with the yellow lines.

Re: MicroJimbo 15v

Still trying to figure out the point of this thread — maybe it’s just Saturday and I’m tired.
There are quite a few comparison photos and discussions about both the Micro and Lil models here.

The MicroJimbo is an amazing design, but I’m personally holding out for the Yojimbo in 15V.

PS oh and ...

Re: yojumbo trainer...?

I'd much rather see sprint run of Yojimbo family trainers than have them all made in 15V. It's kind of sad to think such a great design might end up being valued more as a warehouse box cutter... I really hope I’m wrong.

Even in 15V it would still perform its intended role with ease. I carry ...
