Dear owners of Spyderco s90v knives

Hi. I've come to understand that in the "knife community", when it comes to stainless supersteels : s90v is the favorite of lots of people. I mainly love spyderco for the fact that this brand allows me to test differents steels in the same package (N5 line up for exemple). This includes ba...

Re: How well does FRN age?

I've seen yellow FRN knives really really dirty, always cleaned to "new". As for the shiny parts it is something that would happen on a daily used knife over the years. Since this is FRN, I guess it would polish itself over time, but that would need a pretty long time of contact, and only ...

Re: Replacement washers for Chaparral?

I would worry more about counterfeiter moles than anything ^^ But I've always liked spy movies.

I can't really tell but it must be the thinnest washers i've ever had on a knife.

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat

Thanks for the answers, if it works usually it'll return back to normal pretty fast.

@Buddafucco : Nice ! I saw ones for older mules, but didn't know if it was a systematic thing she did. That's nice! I'm impatient for the next mule, no matter the steel ^^.

However, I can't access the catalog, everytime it just says no products.

Re: Is the CBBL dead???

I'm pretty harsh on blade play, I might have itghtened it up to the point it had no blade play even when pulling sideways like a maniac !

anyways, even if it was the case, it has perfect action now.

I think these are branded counterfeits, looks like he bought à lot of em on aliexpress and is trying to profit from them.

Re: Is the CBBL dead???

Instead of CBBL, the Sage 6 shouldn't be a shark lock? Just saying... :winking-tongue

My Manix LW BD1N can be open easily, and it's a drop shut action with no play. Maybe I was lucky. I did have to put no oil and use it for a month before it became hyper smooth tho.

Re: Community Sharpening Journal

I think people rush it and use too much pressure with the Precision Adjust. I've had very even, very sharp edges come off of mine with all the knives I've used. If you're rocking the unit or the clamp is moving a bit while sharpening...you're using too much pressure. I guess it's just time for adju...

Re: Community Sharpening Journal

Ramonade, I agree on the Work Sharp Precision Adjust, two friends have them and after trying, was not impressed. You have steady hand, the final bevels are nice in the photos. I also use the blue plastic wedges to establish bevel angle when hand sharpening, available on Amazon site and inexpensive....

Re: Thorough - Multi-Tool Face Off

The voice of this guy is hypnotizing. I often end up randomly on one of his vids, and watch the whole thing even if it's not a tool I often use lol. I have a Leatherman OHT that's been through a lot and is still kicking. Had to replace the cutters once. Only con : the toolset isn't complete enough, ...

Re: Endura 4 ZDP-189

European dealers like Knives&Tools still have the Caly 3.5, Stretch 2 and Endura 4 in ZDP-189. Their price aren't that good tho... For HAP40 knives, I can't seem to find any in stock. As for the vertical blade play in the lock position, it is due to the FRN. The pivot is moving inside it's encas...
