Re: Magnacut or Bust Wishlist

Honestly, a must have in MagnCut for me is of course a Native 5 LW PE. Then it is harder.

I'd say long and or big blades. Any fixed blade and Plice, Endura, Militaries...

Re: What Spyderco that was DISCONTINUED would you like to see back.

I've certainly answered already, but a Goddard FRN in K390 would be excellent ! I know FRN tooling wouldn't be worth it for just a sprint, so... let's bring it back all together ? :')

I'm gonna wait for T15 since a nice customer is waiting on this one. Hope some MT2s will be in stock the day of the T15 drop :open-grin

Re: Community Sharpening Journal

Took my new K390 S2 to a mirror polish trying to get rid of the burr it came with from the factory. Worked on most of the edge, except around the tip. I’ve stropped it at a few different angles, figuring that the tip might be at a slightly higher angle, but not dice. Anyone have any advice? I sharp...

Re: KnifeCenter Manix 2 XL Cruwear/Smooth G10

I´d really like to try an XL, must be a great knife. So spontanously I tried to order one from knife center - but, well, here´s what they say... "Due to the EU and UK's onerous VAT tax filing and remittance requirements, we are unable to process any orders under $200 USD. We apologize for this...

Re: Community Sharpening Journal

I very often finish on the F240. After some time with these stones (Dog series and then Cerberus Dog series, even better) I know what I like best ! IT's either going really high like F1500 on particular steels, or F240 one pass on each side on a leather strop and I'm good to go. If there's any repro...

Re: Can I has: MAGNACUT PARA 3 LW.

Perhaps he's planning on making/printing some custom scales instead 💡 More hassle than buying ready-made scales (in titanium and outside the UE, at that) but much cheaper. Also potentially more fun. I'm gonna close this out of topic discussion on that but... Nah, he didn't look like he knew much ab...

Re: Spyderco Photo of the Week Contest!

Wanted to showcase something different today. Bought a mug from the website a year ago, never used it because it came in broken (traveling the entire world tends to do that to pottery). I fixed it and anyways I have an even better one handmade in USA thanks to Spyderco ! https://i.imgur.com/BP62oBt....

Re: Manix G10 and LW blades identical?

Well I've had two LWs and do like the LW very much but none of them was able to come close to the smooth action of the G10 model.

I'm not scared when it comes to durability, I bet both will hold on the same amount of years. Maybe the screwed version can be tuned better than the pinned versions.

Re: Can I has: MAGNACUT PARA 3 LW.

I had a deal for just a Para 3 LW blade and liner. But the guy wasn't ok with getting a normal amount of money for it. Otherwise it would have been worth it to buy the scales ! I think you'd have to count around 100€ total for the Ti LW scales. Cheers frère 👍 I guess a 20 € duty stamp wouldn't be t...

Re: Stretch 2 XL in grey G10 and CruWear steel!

That's a beauty, congratulations! Like @kennethsime, I'd like to find a reliable source for aftermarket scales. I know Ripp's Garage Tech does micarta for a few models but I didn't see the S2XL or Native 5 listed. I'm tempted to see what Cuscadi could do with the S2XL, maybe stabilized buckeye or w...

Re: Delica conundrum

Well, it was an answer to your research of good thickness BTE. If you want Spyderco to ask their Japan maker to change the whole VG-10 model, well that won't happen. You can have yours reground. Or bare the terrible price of a good hollow grind. Who’s talking about changing “the whole VG10 model” ?...

You might be interested in something they are working on right now. Called the High Performance Delica. A VG-10 Delica with an even better geometry than on the K390 Delica or other "special" versions.

Re: Can I has: MAGNACUT PARA 3 LW.

If the pair of these I ordered work out like I hope they do, there will be more P3 LWs in my future, definitely including a MagnaCut. https://heinnie.com/titech-titanium-scales-for-para-3-lightweight/ I seem to recall that regular Para 3 blades might fit. Also yeah, the Heinnie scales look nice. Bu...

One thing I will mention is if you cut it into squares always write what it is with a Sharpie on the back. As only a few will have the grit number on it
YES. Discovered that pretty quickly, not the first project, but definitely the second one :squinting-tongue
