Hello
I am casually thinking about acquiring another Delica. I've been wanting to try a different steel, maybe one that holds an edge a little better than VG-10.
Seems like all of the Delica 4's with S30V I find have pink scales.
I could change that scales but an S30V blade is a bit expensive to ...

Re: Delica 4 lightweight
Thank you for all of the helpful replies.
It seems as though quite by accident I have managed to get the two Spyderco's out of the lineup that I would like best. Delica 4 and Manix 2 lightweight.
Not only that, but I have managed to get the version of each I like best. Again, quite by accident.

Delica 4 lightweight
I selected this knife because it has clip screw holes on both sides and both ends. I am left handed and carry point down.
I didn't know Spyderco made both a lightweight and a standard weight Delica 4.
How does a Delica 4 lightweight differ from the standard?

Re: Stripped clip screw threads
Thank you @Michael Janich
Knowing the threads were in the liner I revisited the situation. It was a matter of not bearing down on the screw hard enough for it to engage. I put a carbon fiber clip and it is a little thicker than the Spyderco clip.

Stripped clip screw threads
The threaded part of the scales on my Delica 4 are stripped. (I assume the threads are in the scales?)
I have another Delica to which I won't attach a clip so I could swap the scales but I'm thinking this might not be an isolated incident.
I have some Locktite 242. Would that be a good way to go ...

Re: Manix 2 Lightweight
Good information. Thanks!
I bought it on impulse. Didn't really know what it was just that I had a Delica 4 and liked it so I wanted to try another Spyderco. OH, and I liked the translucent blue.

Re: Manix 2 Lightweight
Thanks @sal, @Wartstein and @SRT392HEMI!
Is the pocket clip the only difference between the standard and lightweight Manix 2's?
The Lynch is much nicer than the Spyderco wire.

Manix 2 Lightweight
The pocket clip for my Manix 2 is missing and I was looking for a new one. All of the clips I was finding were the three screw style. I finally figured out I have the lightweight version which has a wire pocket clip.
How does the Lightweight differ?
Thanks!
Steve

Re: Customizing a Delica 4
The carbon fiber pocket clip arrived yesterday. It positions in my pocket very well.
It positions so well I may have to look for another Spyderco.

Re: Customizing a Delica 4
Thanks for all the responses. I went with an eBay carbon fiber regular carry and black clip screws for now. I'll use that for a while until something else strikes me.
The red scales do look good though.

Customizing a Delica 4
I've been carrying one Spyderco or another for 10 years but have not posted on this forum before.
I have a Delica 4 I'd like to dress up a bit for EDC. I've been carrying a Manix 2 in a Remora magazine pouch in my rear pocket but that has become uncomfortable so I want to change to front pocket ...
