What happend do spy27
Hey all, Quick question. What happend to spy27? I thought it was going to be a staple on most lines. It took me a little to warm up to it, but it is hard to chip, sharpens easier than most and holds an edge as good as s30v. I want a manix 2 in spy27 with the same aqua scales as my manix 2 light weig...

Re: What stainless is most similar to k390?
It's a shame we can't get something like a manax 2 with k390 steel sandwiched between a stainless clad. Hint hint. I think this stuff is also amazing. I have lots of s110v and m390/20cv but k390 cuts better as that edge is so fine and likes to keep it for a good length of time. Looking forward to y...

What did you get?
I have the m390 manix 2. I know a few shops that still have them.

Re: Problems with k390 Spyderco knives
So, after reading all pages I see a lot of people dismissing the so called problematic issue brought up by the opening post because sharpening this and it works fine that to which camp I also belong in. Might as well throw all my sharpening gear in the trash if I can't get a bevel set to my own sta...

Re: BD1N is no slouch, man…
I hold back sometimes due to the cost. This is another contributing factor. It’s not that I hold back with the more expensive knives…it’s the abandon you can use with budget knives. I don’t worry that this is the 10-15th edge it’s had. I don’t worry about it slipping out of my pocket, etc. Sometime...

Re: Thought it was bent, but was the grind
Thanks for the information. I thought it was a seki city thing and with steel, not stainless.metaphoricalsimile wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 9:31 pmI have a 20cv Para 3 LW with a similar issue, although not as pronounced.
All of my golden USA knives are 100%. My para 3 s110v is an amazing knife.
Thanks again,
Dusty

Re: BD1N is no slouch, man…
Thank you all for the great information. I have the para 3 in s110v and it's a wild every day carry knife. But I hold back sometimes due to the cost. I have been looking at the BD1N lw due to the price. Almost half the cost and if I damage it, $100 is easier to eat than $200. Knowing the steel is go...

Re: Thought it was bent, but was the grind
I got a PM2 Maxamet from the seconds sale that looked like that. Surprised yours didn't get picked up by QC. Hey Josh, Thanks for sharing. I got mine online from the other side of Canada. By the time I noticed it, I had already forced a patina and sharpened it. So it can't go back. I did contact sp...

Re: Problems with k390 Spyderco knives
Hey, I recently posted about the k390 police. The knife is strate, but all of the distal taper is on one side. I don't know if the knife sagged during the heat treatment or was ground at 330pm on a Friday before knock-off. Lol All of my other Golden spyderco knifes are perfect. I also noted in the ...

Re: Manix 2 Flytanium Ball Cage Trouble
I managed to order a m390 early this week. I have the brass ball cage to change it to when it arrives. Did spyderco do a re-release?

Re: Manix 2 Flytanium Ball Cage Trouble
I have done two now and the first one bound up and I was worried. What worked was I oiled it up and played with it until my thumb hurt (about an hour). This allowed the new surface to eroded a little. It is fast and quiet now. I agree with the others. But the plastic looks **** on a $200 knife. Than...

Re: Thought it was bent, but was the grind
This is a factory second Maxamet PM 2. It’s not bent, the right side is pretty much straight instead of having a taper towards the blade center line. All of the taper is on the left side. The tip just misses the handle and it doesn’t affect the use at all. Hey Pokey, Thanks for your photo. That loo...

Re: Thought it was bent, but was the grind
That looks like warping during heat treatment. Maybe. It's hard to get a good photo to show more. It's only a millimeter or two of, but the long blade shows towards the end. On the one side it's dead flat against a ruler, however on the last 3/4 of an inch of distal taper on the other side it... Th...

Thought it was bent, but was the grind
Hey all, When I first seen the blade on my police I thought it was bent, but on closer inspection it would appear to be an uneven grind. I have never had this before on my spyderco knives. Dose anyone have anything like this? Would appear that most of the grind is on the one side and the other is fo...

Re: S110v - waning popularity?
Hey, I'm very happy with cpm s110v. Not to hard to sharpen with diamonds, it's very rust resistant and keeps a working edge for a long time. Some people think it chippy, but I can make any knife chip or roll if used to cut staples or pry. I own a para 3, manix 2 and native 5 in s110v. No complaints ...

Re: Cold blue compound
Before trying abrasives to remove cold blue, try using vinegar instead! At first I tried that, but was to slow. Taking a little bit of time and going with the grain worked well. Now it looks like a tool that is well loved. I can't believe how **** it looked. I have touched up at least 20 firearms w...
