Re: Richlite Material

I have a few knives in Richlite. It has a papery feel and is definitely interesting. I'm going to try sanding some later in the week. I'll just be rounding some crisp scale edges but I'm curious to see how it differs from other materials.

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native

There are a couple Ti dragonfly kits both of which come with washers. Are those kits for FRN and Salt models? yes. Flytanium makes one and there's one for sale on ebay. I have both. They both work. The ebay one was designed to be used without washers, but includes them and they do work. The Flytani...

Re: Dragonfly S30V pink version, coming with bronze washer ?

I have the pink S30V version with non-coated blade. I just upgraded to Flytanium. Mine did not have any washers (but it does now).

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Finally tried the Flytanium scales. Very nice. So much more solid and the little bit of extra weight really isn't an issue.

Re: Dragonfly2 LC200N?

Yes, please do the Wharncliffe Dragonfly in LC200N! I'd buy two!

(The same would be true for MagnaCut, SPY27, S45VN, or even Elmax. Seriously, the Wharncliffe Dragonfly needs more stainless options!)

Nice! I'd like to see all sorts of new versions of the Dragonfly 2, especially in the Wharncliffe configuration.

Re: Reveal 15 - Live!

I expected to see more excitement about the models in SPY27. While overshadowed by S45VN and MagnaCut, it looks like a cool steel and I've been meaning to try it. So I'll definitely be picking up a Sage 5 here.

Maybe one day we'll get lucky with a Dragonfly 2 or Wharncliffe Dragonfly in SPY27...

I picked one up but haven't had a chance to set it up. I'll post about it when I do.

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native

For a tiny three-finger knife, the Dragonfly ergonomics line up a lot better for my hand. So it does end up being my most-carried knife, often as a secondary in a shirt or jacket pocket, etc.. What I'd really like to see is improvements on the Dragonfly LW. The big one is just offering it (especiall...

Re: Sage series collection - What's the next Sage?

sal , Since we are brainstorming here, this is my Sage. I made the ergonomics more neutral and smooth, including a crowned spine and chamfered Spydie hole. (It's a little rough but this was my first time doing this level of modification.) This is the kind of knife I want from Spyderco. https://i.im...

The best-laid plans... The sky opened up when I was lit and a little ways from the house. Of course, the rain stopped once I was inside and dry.

Re: Dying Black G10 Scales to Make Them Blacker

WD40, 3-IN-ONE, and some other products are at least slightly toxic. While it probably won't hurt you in isolation, why lean into the punch? Most of us have enough toxic exposure in our lives. Just get some pure non-toxic mineral oil from the pharmacy. (You know, the kind you can take as a laxative....

I’m waiting for that SPY27 one. 👍
Me too. The Sage 5 is a great EDC all-rounder on its own and my S30V LW was good practice in modifying it to perfectly fit my hand. Now I'll get to kill two birds with one stone: a chance to "do it right" with those mods and a chance to try SPY27!

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

I forgot to post for "Spyderco Saturday" but yesterday was my modified Sage 5. Today was just this little Wharncliffe Dragonfly. I caught a pic while out for a short walk and enjoyment prevailed against a light sprinkle.
