Re: Blade HQ Para 3 LW in M4

Big handle, small blade. Great steel, but...not for me. Welcome to spyderco?? I feel like having a generous handle for the relative amount of blade is just a part of the spyderco design philosophy, since they almost all include generous finger choils or ricassos. Based on post count, I think I shou...

Re: Mule Team Subscription maybe?

I don't like the idea of a Mule Subscription, it seems to me the mules are out there for folks who want to try a steel on a standard platform, not only for the "gotta catch em all" crowd. For example, I got a MT28, MT29 and MT31, now I'm good for a while until another steel that I'm speci...

Z-Max with Spyderco/Halpern scales and red liners.

Have a 3d printer inbound on top of the g10 sheets, never used one but I thought trying to print liners might be a good start

Re: What Will Be The First Magnacut Model?

Hat's off to you Larrin. I'm carrying a Manix with Magnacut. Very sharp. Took a beautiful edge. Also doing very well in our corrosion test tank, after 10 days. Gonna be fun. sal I don’t know if this means the Manix will be the first out of the gate, but if it is THANK YOU! :) Ditto, with feeling. I...

Re: Is this normal for MAXAMET?

I took a look at mine today that came in and do not have any sort of pitting or discoloration other then what looks like a small scratch on the logo which is only visible at 80x+. The scratch is actually black, like the laser engraver or what ever they use to do it went wild for a second.

Re: Increase in Exclusives?

I have mixed feelings on this also, enough that Im not sure my opinion is even valid. If they are killing production models though, that's a big concern. One thing I do wish is that Spyderco would require exclusives to abide by some ground rules, like listing the time and date ahead of release so th...

Re: Mule Team Subscription maybe?

A couple of things to consider on the long-term prepay. 1) How is Sal supposed to set a price for a Mule before the steel is purchased and shipped, machining costs are known, and heat treatment requirements have been worked out? 2) What is the IRS going to say about all that money being collected a...

Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread

In a thread about switching all golden models over to s45vn: There are so many new steels popping up lately that any plans that might have been made might be adjusted. sal Purely speculation, but I wonder if this means s45vn has been edged out by Magnacut? That’d be a pretty incredible default prod...

Re: Will the S45VN CQI to the PM2 find its way to other Golden models

I’ve just purchased a PM2 Black G-10 from Blade HQ, and a Para3 Black G-10 from DLT. Each is a plain blade in S45VN. The PM2 is 3 weeks old and the Para3 just arrived yesterday afternoon. I would go to each site and click on “Notify me when in stock”. Yep, I'm signed up on a few sites, just no luck...

Re: Will the S45VN CQI to the PM2 find its way to other Golden models

I've been trying to find one of the new s45vn pm2 for a few months now, so far only seen 1 camo/satin on eBay and it sold quickly, granted any pm2 right now is a challenge. Which version are you looking for? Black DLC is the main one, but I'd probably take a camo DLC too and just swap the scales. I...

I found some 5"x 10" x 1/32" of G-10 sheets on Amazon. 5 pack of red, blue, white, yellow and black sheets for $26.00
I found them too after you mentioned it, but I honestly don't know the first thing about cutting/shaping G10, going to have to do some googling

Fixed that for ya :D Lol, that would be awesome - a regular production Cruwear Shaman. Don't think it's possible though, given that there have been DLC Cruwear Knifejoker Shaman, Cru-carta Shaman and Z-wear Shaman sprints already. Even the hint of Cruwear in anything ball bearing or compression alw...

Re: Mule Team Subscription maybe?

Good point ^ Tom. A long-leadtime pre-payment would reduce some of the guesswork and risk for Spyderco on how many mules to produce. And it would discourage scalpers who would not be inclined to wait months or a year to flip their Mule for an easy-sleazy profit. Y'all realize that as Spyderco makes...

I find the weight thing to be pretty ticky tacky when it comes to buying or not buying a knife. Whether I'm carrying a Dragonfly or a Shaman, I've never once thought "this knife is so light/heavy in my pocket" I have to agree. The thought of guys who probably have an extra 10+ pounds in t...
