Re: US Spyderco Meet
I would selfishly advocate for a meetup in Boston but then we’d all be carrying dragonflies and lil natives…everyone would just be standing there, looking at their feet like “yeah…so…oh nice, ANOTHER superblue dragonfly…”

Stupid question time…
I was admiring my Maxamet Sage 1 just now and it occurred to me…
How many people out there have this as their SOLE pocket knife? Same thing with the Amalgam or K2 or really, any “slightly offbeat” Spyderco. Are there people out there running around with just a Phoenix because they thought it looked ...

Re: Manix 2 XL - 15v
I’m thinking we’ll probably be seeing this within the next two reveals...assuming there’s still enough 15v to go around. It’s among the few Golden models that hasn’t yet received the 15v treatment.

Re: Sage 5 LW - Question about dirt in the action
I agree with Mikey177. As a rule I generally stay with fixed blades when I use a knife for camping, hunting or fishing duties. More to avoid the deep clean needed when finished.
I once had to “field dress” (gut and remove the head of) a 30lb salmon with a Civivi Incite since it was the closest ...

This was my top priority from “reveal 16”…i believe that’s when it was announced/confirmed.

Re: Sage 6, WHO'S EXCITED
This will be my first s90v/cf. It’s odd…i like s90v and i like carbon fiber but I’ve just never picked up anything from those sprints, etc. A button lock sage is definitely enough to break that particular ice.

Re: Sage 5 lw in 15v
I've dreamt of the same steel/chassis combo package myself, hoping to see it happen, but have been told that Deadboxhero only wants them to be Golden, CO models with the BBB 15V.
I knowww, I’ve seen that. Hopefully it’ll branch out at some point. Certain Taichung models, especially the sage ...

Sage 5 lw in 15v
I’ve been sitting here, admiring my new para 3 lw in 15v and pondering on how epic a sage 5 lw would be…
Beyond the steel, seeing a sage 5 lw in this color, with a stonewashed blade 🤤
I know there are probably some annoying logistical considerations with setting the Taichung factory up with 15v ...

Very interesting to see CPM 15V on a steel chart from over a decade ago given its recent proliferation

Re: REC Native 5 drop?
Dude, seriously?
Why is this happening now with all of the reveal 16 stuff starting to trickle in? Im gonna have to start prioritizing the things I want…at least I can hold off on the Crucarta natives and magnacut sage if they happen to release at a similar time.

Pulled the trigger on a lw
There’s something about the para 3 lw that I really like…above and beyond the g10 para 3. They’re nowhere near as refined as the sage 5 but they’re kind of the closest thing to a flick toy in Spyderco’s catalog. The color and steel selection make this a no brainer for me ...

Thought: Jigged Bone Stretch Models
Randomly got recommended a video on the jigged bone Enduras and my mind almost went beside itself at the thought of a jigged bone Stretch run. Stretch 2, Stretch 2 SS, Stretch 2 XL, doesn’t matter. Any one of those would be completely and utterly next-level, in my opinion.

Re: Good knife to practice bench stones?
I learned to sharpen on an opinel #6 (although, the #8 is more recommendable for that particular task)…
You can pick up a carbone AND an inox #8 (carbon steel and stainless steel respectively) for less than the price of an average “budget knife”. The thing that makes Opinels so good for learning to ...

Re: Brown Micarta texture difference
This is one of the things I love about micarta (and especially burlap micarta because it jacks the whole thing up a notch). Your knife is going to be unique and “inspectable” in a more obvious way than G10 or FRN. Marbled carbon fiber is even more dramatic in that sense.

Re: Bodacious + Shaman Comparison Thought
Anybody who owns a Bodacious and a Caribbean…does the Bodacious seem redundant at all in your stable when compared/contrasted to the Caribbean?
I guess it didn’t occur to me until someone mentioned it here but they do have somewhat similar vibes…shaman sized, a little more slicey, no choil, fewer ...

Re: Spyderco's REX 121. WOW!
Carried my Rex 121 lw today. To be honest, I haven’t really put it through any sort of real work. I just like having it with me…burnt orange is a really interesting color and Rex 121 is such an extreme steel. It’s a fun, unique knife to have around.

Re: Chaparral slipjoint!
I might have to pick one of these up…it fixes the ONLY issue with the chappy which imo, is that the lock is a bit uncomfortable to operate. To be fair, when used as intended, the knife is 100% fine…it’s only when you sit there, messing with it, that the lock starts to feel a bit painful. But ...
