Like for so many of you, the Kapara is one of my most carried knives (second to the Ouroboros!) But I also have too much carbon fiber and too many similar steels. For all of their expense and rarity, swapping in a sprint run model can cut down redundancy in a collection :)
Given the choice, what ...

Have XHP on my Hundred Pacer. Got it recently, and the factory edge was a bit chippy. Will see if later edges get past overheated steel.

Re: 52100 military sprint
Mine turned into a beater. I was trimming weeds growing out of brick, slipped, and smacked the edge. Merely dulled, no chipping. Shown no mercy to it ever since. Haven't had to properly do full sharpenings because the apex is so stable. It came with a microbevel from the factory, which is funny ...

Re: Who wants more models with raffir noble scales?
I agree about Kirinite, but it would depend on the kind. The grey smoke stuff looks great, but some of the multicolored materials can look pretty wacky.
Surprised to hear about it chipping.
Passing up the umpteenth RN Chapparal over on knife_swap is actually what triggered this post. I've only ...

Re: Who wants more models with raffir noble scales?
OK here's one that could actually happen, and would be sick: Kamara with raffir scales, and gold g-10 backspacer, like on the old Canal Street Boy's knife. Lc200n for corrosion resistance. I have so much carbon fiber among all my knives, would love to replace my stock version with this.

Re: My favorite handle design
The Hogue EX04 is one of my favorites for this reason. Still baffles me why most folders are flat in this day and age.

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up
Seconded on the Ulize. I recently made paper mockups of a lot of Spyderco, and that one impressed me with its comfort in both Saber and pinch grip.
As for the Ayoob scales, there are a lot of CF sprints already, maybe Micarta? Or dark red or purple g-10? Or a darker wood?

Who wants more models with raffir noble scales?
I'm sure I'm not the only one who adores the raffir noble scales on the chapparal, but is lukewarm about the actual model. (Love the thin grind, but the bottom rear of the handle doesn't quite work in the saber grip for me)
