Re: I Went Crazy

Agree with the others on customizing. I have always collected knives more slowly but that allowed me to focus on what really made sense for my uses. Figuring out what you use the most early on will help avoid many short term knife purchases. Once you figure out what you really like the most, customi...

been carrying my se pacific at work lately instead of the pe. I keep an UF rod in my work bag and just touch it up freehand once a week or so. https://i.postimg.cc/LXfYbPcr/20211121-151359-HDR.jpg I also like the cheap digital Casio watches. Re: spydiechef issue

Mine is CQI with black screws as well and has this issue so it must just be happening randomly across the different iterations.

Re: spydiechef issue

Mine does that as well. So far it has not been a serious issue in day to day use but it does happen occasionally. I think it might be due to the flex in the lock bar. My lock bar can move up and down slightly when the knife is closed so it can close beyond what is intended and the lock bar flexes be...

Re: Cutleryshoppe Exclusive Shaman, Stonewash CTS-XHP, Orange G10

Got mine right at noon but it’s good to see them still in stock. If there were more standard shamans in stock I may have gotten one weeks ago but I am glad I had to wait for this one. Orange is one of my favorite colors and stonewashed is my favorite finish.

My wife also noticed this one and likes the color and really likes the translucence. “Wife approved” could become a selling point on this one.

Re: KnifeJoker translucent manix2 lw

Smoothed out the spine jimping a bit on mine and now it’s great. I sold my first manix LW because the jimping tore up some pockets. Really glad I took the chance to just smooth it out a bit because this is a great knife. Mine is centered and intermittently smooth. Sometimes it drops other times it h...

In the video he says he wanted to get denim blue but when the yojimbo came out you could only get IBM blue g10 because they only made g10 in 4 colors.

Cutting the diaper collection bag while reloading the diaper genie with my Endura has become very frequent.

Re: Yojimbo Love?

I watched a video where Mike said he wanted to make the original yojimbo 1 in a denim blue. I’d say just make that happen. Denim blue micarta with stonewashed blade and clip would be perfect. I like the blade and ergonomics and think that denim micarta and stonewashed would fit it well.

Re: Spyderco shopping on Amazon - experiences

Some legitimate sellers sell through Amazon. So I consider buying through Amazon but only if it’s a seller I know. (Check the sold by and fulfilled by sections of the listing) I may be wrong but I think DLT trading does or at least used to sell through Amazon.

I'd rather see a steel change than Titanium scales.

Maybe SPY-27 and the appropriate shade of blue G10 scales?
I am on board with this more than ti.

The color of the FRN on the SPY-27 manix would look cool on the Ikuchi and trying a new steel would be fun.

Re: More affordable compression lock knives

Thanks for responding Sal, I didn’t know how much of a price difference it would make. It is nice to learn a little more about the business even if it means that the idea of more budget friendly materials wouldn’t be that practical. I will probably get the Sage 5 LW, it looks like a great value and ...

Re: KnifeJoker translucent manix2 lw

I carry the rex45 m2lw and I love it. It’s sharp as **** too. Only issue I have is the jimping on the back of the blade catches my pocket when putting it back in. I switched the clip and still does it. So I have to slide it in easy. 😎 I had the exact same problem. I am thinking about getting this o...

Re: More affordable compression lock knives

Y’all are talking me into the sage 5 LW. I also would like to give the Manix 2 LW or regular another chance. The jimping on the spine was tearing holes in the corner of my pockets when inserted or removed but I liked the design. Did the spine jimping tear up anyone else’s pockets or did I probably j...

Re: More affordable compression lock knives

I have looked at the Sage 5 LW and Para 3 LW but with my XL hands, I usually go for knives on the larger side. I still may end up with one but I also prefer G10 to FRN on most knives. I like my Endura as is but on most knives I like G10 more. I am caring less about blade steel recently. My wife got ...

Re: What are your thoughts on Spyderco's Peel-ply Carbon Fiber?

If going for cost savings is the goal I would prefer regular g10 or layered g10 and maybe knock a couple bucks off the price. If carbon fiber is going to be used the Kapara seems to have the nicest kind.

Re: More affordable compression lock knives

I am aware of the Sage 5 LW and it looks nice but I just dont tend to like the lightweight knives as much as the regular models. I am hoping for some more affordable G10 versions. The Sage 5 LW is definitely one I will consider if I want to get a smaller knife. The Amalgam, Smock and Kapara are the ...

Re: More affordable compression lock knives

Welcome to the forum! :) "Spydercos best knives/designs" is a bit subjective I think. ;) For me their best designs DO already come in "affordable materials: - The Endura (Endela, Delica, Stretch) you mentioned: VG10, FRN, great designs with the for me most versatile and safest lockty...
