Re: *Shipping to Australia & New Zealand Suspended*

Was just in the US and had to send a parcel to a friend in Canada. The USPS charge to Canada was $29 for a watch strap that fitted in a letter satchel. Small parcel to Australia was $89. So I can see why Spyderco has stopped the service until flights are back to normal. Knowing that half of every p...

Re: What knife do you carry clipless?

I removed the clip on my Subvert and I carry it in a Surefire belt holster or in my Billingham Hadley Pro bag (Firefly in my pocket).

Re: *Shipping to Australia & New Zealand Suspended*

I am receiving knives throughout the pandemic using FedEx and I pay customs on shipments over $1000 AUD (Brad Zinker - 2022, and a Rask - 2021).

Cheers

Re: Sharp thumb hole fix ?

Use a Sharpmaker rod or something similar to break the edge. Don't go too far or you'll find that your thumb slips off I assume I can polish the jimp slightly also? Which rod is best? I have Spyderco knives with sharp edges and I bought a Lansky 3-sided Diamond Pen ($17.99 smackeroo's) to take down...

Re: Favorite small spyderco

1. Firefly - Companion to the Subvert
2. Vrango - Small EDC
3. Lil' Lum Blue Nishijin - Fifth pocket
4. Pingo Ti - I carry this knife when I want a non-threatening or widely-legal blade
5. Squeak Ti - I use this knife to open packages with new knives.

Does it matter which of these sharpeners discussed are suitable for more funky blades like my Vrango, Subvert, Pingo, and Lil Lum?

Thanks

Re: I want a new knife, but something different

You seem to have a gap in your flippers. LOL. I like the Advocate and Dice. I think the Dice is a flipper extrordinaire due to at least six ways to open the knife.

Cheers,

Love the little ones like the Vrango, Pingo, Lil Lum, and Firefly; something very different from your collection.

Re: How did you get into Spyderco?

I started scuba diving and went shopping for a diving knife. Rather than buy a knife from a company that makes masks and fins, I looked for a diving knife from a knife company. My selection criteria brought me to Spyderco and the H1 Enuff fixed blade SE. (I also bought an H1 Pacific Salt 2 and Drago...

Knives plus put a bunch more disco’d models up for sale in the Boss’s Collection. Some gems in there! https://www.knivesplus.com/discontinued-old-new-stock-knives-knives-plus-collection.html Not the best prices on some models but no doubt there are some gems. The SE Temperance will be headed my way...

Re: Do you value inhouse designs higher than collaboration models?

I have a variety of knives designed by Sal and Eric (I am waiting for a Dice to arrive). However, collaboration is the elixir of innovation. I'm looking forward to seeing more collaborations in smaller knives (e.g., Vrango, Squeak, Khalsa, Lil Lum, Pingo, Perrin PPT, Techno 2, etc.). Maybe a Mini Su...

I most often use mineral oil. Or sometimes Frog Lube.
I bought a liter of mineral oil. I use it on my knives and kitchen cutting boards made of wood.

I'm partial to the Caribbean and Rock Jumper :)
I think the Caribbean is an under-rated knife. Nice Taichung blade at a great price.
