Mine has just arrived, it is just awesome. Production date is LN (2014), it should be some kind of 'new old stock'.

Ballistol is awesome product, I use it as a short/mid-term coating for non-stainless blades (besides the gun-care), no problems at all. It is safe and smells great. I heard it can polymerise after a year or so, but have never seen that.

Linerless construction without rustproof blade seems to me more of a disadvantage. Would definitely get a Salt version of this design though.

Suddenly much happier with the S30V Endura.

Which has no unnecessary logos or coating, and is still in stock at some dealers for $101.50, btw.
I cannot understand why it isn't sold out yet, such a good offer.

That's just a guess, of course.. their entire variety of knives is only about 40 positions with a big discount. Looks like a closeout.
