Re: Native 5 salt lockbar tightness
Check this topic out: https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=83339 IIRC, Salt has some difference over standard Native 5: - much stiffer spring - slightly different (improved?) pivot - uses only T8 screws, coated for corrosion resistance Stiffer = more detent force = safer for carrying,...

Re: Native 5 salt lockbar tightness
It'll loosen up with use, or you can loosen the pivot a bit. The N5 Salt is known to be pretty stiff from the factory but yours looks like tighter than most. I actually don't think it's the pivot. If I clamp down all the way on the lockbar the blade will swing pretty freely until it contacts it aga...

Comparing the action of a few Spyderco backlocks. The Native 5 salt stands out a little bit.

Re: A Larger Scale Dodo Model? PLEASE!!!
I'm down for any new Dodo..or anything with a reverse S blade for that matter. Same. I have a lil matriarch, matriarch 2, and civilian. I want more reverse s designs in some more premium steels. The cricket is a bit small for my taste, but I may pick one up for the sake of completeness. The dodo is...

My Matriarch 2 blade overlaid on the Civilian. Pretty cool. They follow the same curves and are about the same until the tip

Ah, thanks. They confirmed it came from a big distributor too.
I just got nervous because it seems like more fakes have been made than real ones

Just received this from pvk.vegas. I just want to confirm everything looks okay. I was surprised at the amount of air between the blade and the handle when closed.

Re: Spyderco Swap!
/r/knife_swap already exists and is more likely to result in a sold knife. What niche is this filling by being private and more difficult to access?

That edge damage is from a single cut?
I guess the lesson here is don't use your pocket knife for something that calls for tin snips/wire cutters

any interest in an update to the Civilian?
I just picked up a Matriarch 2. I'm a fan. I'd like to grab a Civilian too, but I'd want to see the option for an Emerson opener and perhaps a compression lock, which is easier to spydieflick than a back lock. Maybe a more premium blade steel as well.

Re: Swick 5 ETA?
Not sure why this isn't a standard model for Spyderco. It's a great design and there's a lot of interest from what I've seen over the web.
I'd like one to alternate with my ARK once in a while. I hope it isn't hard to get once it gets released

Re: Are you interested in a new run of Spyderhawk hawkbill?
I would love a Spyderhawk. Preferably in LC200N. Heck, even bring back the H1 version.
A Tasman Salt in LC200N would also be welcomed :)
