Re: Native Chief User Stories?
I do not pry with my folders but I have stabbed various objects with my Chief.
The Magnacut chief has become my favorite yardwork/hiking / cutting food on the fly knife. It’s a really great design. It is also super slim in pocket. For a long time I avoided it because of its size but it carries ...

Re: Compression Lock Models with Back Lock
Any non button compression lock knives that use smooth scales.
The Shaman in particular with its contoured smooth scales would benefit from the back lock or some grippier scales(like the peel ply g10 on the manix g10)
The more secure the grip when closing the knife the better (and safer) it is for ...

Re: Question: Para 3 Salt & PM2 Salt scales
Which one is the smoother, non-textured variant?
The black and yellow scales are smooth however the ribbed cut outs are deep enough to feel as secure in hand as FRN. The scales are grippier than the Caribbean despite sharing colors and style. You can tell that Spyderco put a lot of work ...

Re: What are your top 5 Spydercos right now?
Based on my carry patterns in 2025
1. Bodacious - best overall utility edc
2. Chief Magnacut - best for hiking, gardening, fishing, cutting up food. Easy to care for, strong and lightweight.
3. Native salt or Sage - take them anywhere , cuts like a dream

Re: Bodacious lightweight salt
My Sage 5 lightweight salt (yellow handle, black liners, uncoated Magnacut blade) is the perfect knife for EDC.
Now I think the perfect beefed up companion for this knife would be a Bodacious lightweight salt with the exact same characteristics than the Sage 5.
What do you think about this idea ...

Re: New Satin PM2 Salt - Scale surface is different on each side
My pm2 salt (satin)scales are NOT peel ply however they are a lot grippier than the Caribbean scales. The ribbed cutouts create a rough texture that feels comparable to bi directional texturing on FRN.
I’d love to see the upgraded scale pattern of the pm2 salt on a Magnacut Bodacious.

Re: Let's discuss blade tip strength, pros and cons and uses
In my personal use I find that thinner tips are more versatile than thick tips.
Whether it be poking a hole in something, opening packages, lifting a tab on a can, whittling, removing a splinter or cutting open something tight like zip-ties a thin tip is shines over a thick tip.

Re: Native 3.5?
I wouldn't be against it but it is a bit of a Goldilocks size. The Chief really isn't as big as it seems once it's in your hand and it carries basically the exact same as a Native as long as you don't have shallow pockets.

The paramilitary 2 , ribbed for your pleasure
I really like the handle scales upgrade. It’s like the inverse of the Caribbean scales(swapped black and yellow pattern) but far grippier.
