Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
Technically no longer in the mail as it was delivered an hour ago. A Para3 in S45. My 3rd Spyderco and my first Para-anything. And even though I really wanted a PM2, you bloody Americans keep buying them all before any make their way down under! ;) Knife is great. Had quite a bit of side-to-side wig...

Re: Manix 2 LW killer?
"..very sharp and one spot on the blade on the flat part was actually sharp enough to cut toilet paper with me holding it."
Mate, no offence but that Stretch would have bought a lot of serrated toilet paper, you know? :p
(Joking folks!)

Re: The Endela is fantastic.
I'm ready to purchase my 3rd Spyderco but cannot decide on which. What a fabulous conundrum! Secretly, I'm hoping Spyderco are close to announcing the release of a Lyte-Sayber™. As good as the Endela is, I've lost this battle with the weeds and require something that simultaneously slices & caut...

Re: The Endela is fantastic.
I grabbed my first Endela (K390) from G&R on their 20% off sale. I was going to wait for the SE K390 version, but the good deal from G&R was enough to push me over. Really looking forward to this model. A bigger version of my beloved Delica? Yes please! (Endura is just not my favorite) Unle...

Re: Why did you join?
Several reasons: a/ No interest in every other thread containing confrontations over best this, or best that. Through un-thorough & non-scientific research, this forum was by far the most appealing. b/ Spyderco's philosophy of function over form. My knives are tools. No different to my hand and ...

Re: The Endela is fantastic.
Hi R100, My Endela, much like my Dragonfly, has a wee bit of vertical movement. Only a couple of tenths of a millimetre. As to a dislike of plastic... When I read of folks who dislike FRN/GRN, I certainly get it. However, try explaining to your nephew the benefits: FRN is light, flexible, strong, we...

Re: The Endela is fantastic.
Hi Wartstein,
I actually thought it [Endela] was a little wider too, so I appreciate the clarification. My eyesight isn't aging gracefully. At all.
Nice work reprofiling the tip, too. Looks great.
Cheers,
Kendal.

Re: The Endela is fantastic.
Mine arrived yesterday. PE. Simply perfect fit and finish from any angle. I had a secret hope that out of the box it would be very sharp but not razor sharp (to have an excuse to offer it a KME session and put a polished edge on it). But sacrebleu! I can shave with it. Now I will have to find thirt...

Re: Lube
Being new to folding knives the following comment will likely be disproven quickly. Regardless... lubrication or no lubrication, a folding knife isn't likely to suffer a catastrophic failure. The action may become overly slippery, it could bind a little, however it's not going to seize-up and shatte...

Re: The Endela is fantastic.
Hi Everybody, Thank you all so much for the welcome, feedback & enthusiasm. If it weren't for nearly 3k in vet bills next week, I'd have picked up the K390 model, but my wife and I just adore this little dog :) In the "What did you use your Spyderco for last?" thread, I wrote of some n...

The Endela is fantastic.
Hi folks, Received an Endela in the mail today and immediately put it to work. Carved some wooden mail box parts (eucalypt), slashed away a metric tonne of brambles from a walking path near home, and removed a thorn from my knuckle, compliments of said brambles. I love it! It's the standard black FR...

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Our local gorge is full of walking tracks. Sadly a noxious weed has sprung up all along them. The seeds hitch a ride on anything, particularly our dogs. It grows to ~1.2m high (4ft.) in clusters of 30ish stems. They're stalk-like, strong and flexible for their ~3mm (1/8th") diameter. As the see...
