Re: Apologies - 2023 Spyderco Online Factory Seconds Sale
Yup, no apologies necessary. Most folks wouldn't be able to go to the store anyways, so an online seconds sale is a privilege.

Re: MT37P - AEB-L Mule Team Dropping Soon
I would caution people that going extremely thin, even with a steel like AEB-L that does very well with thin edges and grinds, you do need to have some knowledge about the limitations of very thin edges. For cutting cardboard or light rope, etc, my ultra thin AEB-L slip joint is amazing. But if I g...

Re: MT37P - AEB-L Mule Team Dropping Soon
Should be similar to 52100, 1084, and other similar steels unless the hardness is cranked up, right? Seems unlikely they'd go much over the 61-62 range?

Re: MT37P - AEB-L Mule Team Dropping Soon
You want to look at the more detailed chart further down the post to see the specifics in terms of actual results at respective harness levels: https://i0.wp.com/knifesteelnerds.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/stainless-toughness-10-19-21.jpg?w=757&ssl=1 AEB-L looks slightly tougher at higher ha...

Re: MT37P - AEB-L Mule Team Dropping Soon
Is this AEB-L MT produced by Fox or LionSteel in Maniago, Italy? If you look at Larrin’s Stainless Steel chart below you’ll see that AEB-L is very similar to 14C28N, 420HC and LC200N. It’s closest to 14C28N. All 4 have high toughness and good corrosion resistance but relatively poor edge retention....

Re: Mule Screws
Thanks again everyone! I ended up ordering the barrels and screws from USA knife maker, see the links below. The screw heads are slightly bigger than the holes in the halpern scales and stick out a bit but everything fits fine so no big deal. They were the only place I found that wasn't sold out of ...

Re: 3d printed scales with patterns/textures
Maybe this is a stupid question, but would it be possible to add in a little slot to accept a Swiss Army Knife toothpick? I'm wondering because they make fire steels that fit the toothpick hole.

Re: Mule Screws
I contacted the company and they said the screw head diameter is 0.0153". That seems small, right? On the G10 set of scales Spyderco provides the screw head diameter I mesured is 0.206" if that helps. It does, thanks. They added an extra zero, the the screws are apparently 0.153 in diamet...

I was thinking about adding a bungee in the hole on the bottom and wrap that over the top for retention.

Re: Mule Screws
The bolts themselves are 3/16" diameter by 1/2" in length. I don't know screw dimensions, but I measure the head to be 13/64" with a T8 slot. That appears to be a normal screw size, according to the internet. I don't know the threading, but if you're buying replacements I assume you ...

Mule Screws
Hi Everyone,
Could someone tell me what the size of the screws and barrel are for the halpern scales?
Thanks.

Re: 3d printed sheath project
Sheath printed in PETG at 80% infill. Works great! Main usage will be for keeping the knives sheathed when stored away. Would probably be fine in the pocket as well. I prefer this friction sheath over the other one that uses a clip to retain the knife because I usually trim down the guard on the mul...

which models would you like in a smaller version?
Knives I'd love to seen shrunk down by about 10-20% or so: Manix Two Smock I just prefer a folding knife to be under 3 inches. Are there any other knives you all would like to see miniaturized? I know this is a want and not a need because the folks at Spyderco give their customers the best selection...

Do you happen to have the 577 file with a standard nut and bolt combo?Josh Crutchley wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 8:11 pmThey're over here. viewtopic.php?f=15&t=89676&start=40
