Making wife breakfast. Sliced English muffins, buttered after toasting with back curve, opened sausage package. Perfection in a folding paring knife. P'kal

Re: Chaves 229 Kickstop

OK that's a wild grind on the tanto blade. I avoid tabs , and have no use for thumb studs, this leaves flippers out of my collection. But this kickstop has changed my game plan. EK has the stone wash tanto for a great price, just signed up and got $25 off order with free shipping. Now this is a grea...

Re: cold steel mayhem!

Thanks Fireman :tonque-out . This has been a good mod learnng experience. I will make templates . This project has taught me to alter what I don't like, as long as it still looks nice.. a bonus was the teardown, and polishing the sliding lock. Reassembled with die grease it now has a smooth action. ...

Added radius front of grip. Slight cut out clearance for forward grip, and enlarged hole. Much nicer now. Spydie flip sword. :winking-tongue :smiling-heart-eyes :smiling-heart-eyes :smiling-heart-eyes

Re: Power Lock

Apparently, the weight o the large blade was the culprit when flicked open, hard to unlock. Also some minor issues with other parts. R&D is currently refining the lock design (CQI) with plans to use it in a smaller model. sal 🤞🏻 a ‘smaller model’ refers to a 4.8inch bladed Police variant (‘Riot...

Re: Power Lock

While I love my spyderco, they are a bit small. The only ones I kept were 3+ inch blades. Tuff, Ayoob, Caribbean, Siren, manix 2xl, swayback, Vallotton sub hilt, native chief, Autonomy 2, Chinook 3, and small ones native 5, and P Kal. I spend as much on cold steel for 4 inch plus folders. Sal I reall...

New spyderco purchase

Just picked this up at a recent knife show. Best I can tell it's a Chinook 3? Just set the angles and got a good edge on it. Neat knife.

This one has won me over lately. There is nothing to not love about it. yes i started with a rebevel to 16 dps 400 grit coarse edge that pops hair and has bite. Cleanly push-cuts paper. :bug-red :bug-red :bug-red

Re: Gotta rethink my hunting/gutting knife…S110V FAIL!

I use spyderco pocket knifes for skinning ,quartering, and breaking down my deer to pack out of the woods. The last 2 I used were the siren in S90, and the Ayoob SE in cruwear. Both knifes were still shaving sharp afterwards. This includes splitting the ribs. https://i.ibb.co/1QRJMyB/20230218-120624...

OK when I took the survey I hadn't realized that my favorite knifes were write in. So take any 2 off my 5 cult list and replace with Ayoob PE, and Ayoob SE. More Ayoob :bug-red-white :bug-red-white :bug-red-white . Where's JD, come on JD sing it with me. :squinting-tongue Magna cut Ayoob PE AND SE.I...

Re: New Steel Testing Method! My wife and the cupboard.

My wife has destroyed lots of cupboard knifes. The last 3 years she has used the spydie chef. It even does the dishwasher. I credit its long life to the lcn200 and to the belly. Lcn is easy to keep sharp and the belly lets her rock the edge against dinner plates as opposed to the edge slamming the c...
