Re: Street Bowie sheath dulls edge.

My understanding is the “injection-molded polymer sheath” has fiberglass reinforcement which dulls the edge. Run an edge across it and you hear a crunching sound.

To me, Boltaron is equivalent to Kydex - which doesn’t dull the edge, silent when drawing an edge across it.

I could understand ...

…..Gus but maybe Nacho, one of them at one point flips open a Harpy or Tasman to slash up the cushions in one of the booths. Its even accompanied by its own little swell in the ominous music if I remember right. :bug-red-white

Re: perennial favorite: The Spyderco Brouwer

Anyone know what the screws used to hold the Brouwer together are? I might take my own advice and source some bronze hardware. Thanks!

Looks like good ol' steel to me...

Re: Replaced H2 Salt 2 with H1

Welcome!
H-2 is the replacement for H-1. You're correct.
Seems like KnifeWorks may be moving out their older inventory.
Purchased some salt series knives myself recently and contacted my dealers to confirm which one would be sent before ordering.
Doesn't hurt to reach out to them and confirm ...

I do hope it becomes a reg. production model.
Like the “older” volcano grip FRN too. Classic grips for a classic knife 😎

I meant by clicking the link at the top of the thread and looking at the photo that NCBlade uses for the product photo.

Interesting the photo for NCBlade says “VG-10” as opposed to SPY27.

To add to the other great tips - pressure.
Light pressure is essential when sharpening on ceramics since they’re so hard.

Re: Preffering Stainless

Hey everyone,

Curious what stainless steel Spyderco uses for their SS scales?
I’ve been carrying my Police / Harpy / Delica all in stainless handles and never had any issues with rust, etc.

Is it like 18/10 or something?
I did notice that Spyderco is releasing stainless models for 2023 that have ...

Bring on the Endura and Police versions.
Police - OD green G10 (like on DLT’s Tuff variation), and a Cruwear blade (no coating). I’d make a purchase or two.

Basically like the K390/Black G10 police version.

Re: crucarta pm2 now shipping

To report in, my action just needs to break in a bit (normal as usual) ….and screws / clip are just fine. Centering is dead center.

The micarta behind the lock release does flex but that’s normal as well. Nothing to be concerned about.

I have never handled an ARK, but I’m guessing it’s at least pretty similar to what you’re looking for? Lightweight, compact, rust-proof, thin slicey blade that comes in SE. Folks who have them seem to love them.
