Re: Lost my Military 2
I lost an orange endura one time. Looked EVERYWHERE before I decided to order a pacific salt to replace it. I found it in the bottom of a large trash bin in my shop when I took out the trash bag liner. It was somehow in the can under the liner. I have no idea how it could have gotten there.

Re: Boating and lanyards
I wouldn’t worry about it but if you are, a retractable lanyard that is commonly used with fly fishing tools may be the ticket.

Depending on how clean the cut needs to be, I would try to score and snap them.

Hard to beat a pacific salt 2 ffg pe for an ultra-light do all knife. I usually also have a multi tool, which means I have more than one ‘knife’ on me when camping.

What I’m saying it…a knife that can’t be sharpened soon becomes useless.

Re: Looking for advice on this blade damage
If you are afraid to sharpen it you might as well throw it away. I like the ‘sharpen and use fearlessly’ idea best myself.

Re: Phosphor Bronze washers: Theory and Innovation?
Big washers offer rigidity and better blade centering. Smaller washers offer less friction. Ball bearings don't seem appropriate in this application. Plain bearings are the way to go. I agree with you on the plain bearings. The cutouts in the big washers on the Inkosi, am I correct in guessing they...

Re: Best Spyderco for Backpacking
Pacific salt PE, because it’s big, light, and easily sharpened in the field with a small rod if needed. Rustproof helps, but VG10 works in that regard. It’s more about the weight reduction of the salt without any liner weights and the TI clip.

Re: Odd Places You Have Found your Lost Knife
I lost an orange Endura somehow. I thought it was in my shop and I searched everywhere and couldn’t find it, so I wound up ordering a Pacific Salt as a replacement. A month or two later when I took the trash can liner out of a 45 gallon trash can in my shop the Endura was sitting in the bottom of th...

Re: Please remove MAP pricing forever!
Why do more retailers not employ the strategy of ‘advertising’ at MAP but selling lower? In other words, a ‘click to add in cart to see final price’ kind of a thing? I don’t think it would violate any legally written MAP policy and would be an avenue for the retailer to compete based on price. If yo...

Re: Corrosion and Edge Retention
As mentioned Lance (surfingringo) has mentioned this and it jibes with my experience as well. To paraphrase Lance, he mentions that some ‘regular’ stainless blades will significantly dull without use just by being in/near a corrosive environment. Not so with LC and some of the other super stainless ...

Pacific Salt with the LC200N, FFg, linerless FRN bidirectional scales, and titanium hardware does it for me.

Re: Adjusting Pacific Salt 2 Centering
Takuan, thank you for posting this. I searched before my initial post and couldn’t find anything that worked.
The second video worked and the blade is nearly perfect. Thanks again, you helped me fix a minor (but annoying) issue.

Adjusting Pacific Salt 2 Centering
Hello all. I have a Pacific Salt 2 and the blade touches the left side scale when closed. I have tried to loosen the pivot and handle screws and retighten while ‘flexing’ the handle. This did not help. The scales appear to be straight when laid on a straight edge. If I loosen the pivot to the degree...
