Re: Forum Update/Maintenance & Move - PLEASE READ

Performance of the forum on mobile is awful. I’m using Chrome on my iPhone, and there’s like a 10s delay (sometimes longer) for anything I click on that navigates to a different forum page; however, links to external sites open immediately which is why I’m thinking it isn’t a connectivity issue on ...

Re: New Manix 2 with Uneven Bevel

Uneven bevels are something comon on Spyderco knives. Sometimes they are even, most of the time not.
Especially Japan and Golden made ones have the uneven grinds more often. Just my personal experience.

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.

The self rounding seems to occour only if the starting DPS is higher than the final DPS while reprofiling. On my UKPK the original DPS was under 15° and I did not get rounder points, maybe even the opposide. First I thought, I did something wrong, but EvilD got the same effect on one of his SE knive...

Re: Corrosion Reports

It was close this time. I nearly started without taking pictures. So here they are: After a year of CPM 15V, I thought I could try K390 again. Dug up my Stretch 2 and found this: (Click on the images, to get a bigger one) 01.jpg There was a small part of the edge that had visible damage. Not only vi...

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?

My little brother moved the past weekend. Feel free to guess, how many had a knife in the pocket. Yes, out of five people, I was the only one. This is another reason I keep a beater (or 3) in the truck... for a loaner for someone who might hurt themselves or my knife if I hand it to them. :winking-...

My little brother moved the past weekend. Feel free to guess, how many had a knife in the pocket. Yes, out of five people, I was the only one. Look on the bright side: you know just what to get your brother for a housewarming gift! Good idea, but he already got bike parts. I know, those aren't help...

Senfkarte,
yes, you can tilt the Sharpmaker also. I am talking about rotating the base.
Ah, now this makes sense. You want to totate around the other axis. Sorry.

Re: Sharpmaker Elite Edition

JoviAl- You can always try rotating the base of the Sharpmaker. Someone years ago came up with a formula to get a specific angle, and I wrote a small computer program that you can run in your web browser that will tell you what angle is the base needed to be turned to get a specific angle. Sorry, m...

Re: Materials failing under pressure

The idea was good, but I would not trust these numbers. The materials may be damaged long before the max weight has been shown. You can even see it. Aluminium for example already deformed quite a bit at the top and the number still got bigger. But this much deformation can't still be in the elestic ...

Re: Corrosion Reports

Sadly I forgot to take pictures but still wanted to share here. I disassembled my CPM 15V Manix 2 a few weeks ago after carrying it for nearly a year in and around the house. Honestly, it was a nice surprise to just find one rusty spot in the hidden part. The spot was not small, but most of it just ...

Re: Manix Modifications. What have you done? What do you want to do?

Tapping the holes, no. In this case, it most likely would work, but in general you don't want "continuous" threads in two plates, that rest on another. Thats not the way screws are intended to work. Without the backspacer the screws also just are in the liner and every part of the screw, ...

Re: Manix Modifications. What have you done? What do you want to do?

Thanks for all the nice words. Appreciate it. How is the backspacer attached/installed? I'm thinking of doing something similar, but I haven't thought too much about it yet. The backspacer encloses the lanyard tube and rests against the anvil (that's what Spydercos calls this piece, at least) while ...

Re: Manix Modifications. What have you done? What do you want to do?

This thing was better than great, when it left the factory. Now it's my personal dream Manix 2. The changes I made: A titan ball cage, ceramic ball and a back spacer made out of aluminium. 16.jpg The cage is just for the aesthetics. Now all the hardware is silver/metallic. Locks cleaner, simpler, mo...

Not sure, if it's still the case, but there was a time, when the number of teeth and the s...

Re: What knife do you actually carry and use the most?

For me the knife that is carried the most, differs to the one I use the most. The most carried is the UKPK Salt SE in LC200N. This is the knife I carry, when I'm out of the house. It just lives in the pocket of whatever pants I wear at the time for doing daily things. Of course I use it, too. But in...

Great knife, I'm sure. Really would like to get one. But I don't have a credit card. So no 4V Manix for me :disappointed For those that are in Europe and don't know what a debit card is. A debit card is a "bank card" that can be used like a credit card. Except the funds are removed (debit...

https://i.imgur.com/YEQXQX2.jpg I rode my bike today too, after about a month off of cycling. It's your bike and you can do what you want, so please take this just as a friendly notice. Try to be careful with the stanchions of your fork and your rear shock. These are the two places, where scratches...
