Re: Spyderco Photo of the Week Contest!

Congrats SaltyCaribbeanDfly and Mrj !!! Awesome pics! I'll start again. This is my well used Para 3 in SPY27. It has seen some nasty work but is always reliable. Was not a fan of the Para 3 LW. Thought it was a great knife but just didn't connect with me. My first Spyderco was the Para 3 DLC BD1N LW...

Re: Yard Work - Nice Day

https://i.postimg.cc/WpgKPrp5/IMG-1372.jpg We got lucky today and Granddaughter’s husband was free to help us reblock the second island . Ripped out old , supplied black dirt and hauled these large blocks to project . Old blocks were hauled below and stacked . We started around 10:00 and finished u...

Back porch sunny days. Ugh still turning my pictures sideways. Didn’t have this problem before site migration. PM2 and K294. Hey Greg! What are you doing to post? I use a 3rd party hosting site postimages.org like a lot of users on here. https://i.postimg.cc/BvS0CTFY/PXL-20240422-185833383.jpg

Re: The Edge Is A Ghost?

...Please DM or start a thread in off topic if you wish to discuss further. Now this is a paradox (maybe a ghost) I'll never understand. Usually when these things go too deep, this step gets lost in the abyss. Doesn't bother me. I just find it fascinating in the online human psyche. It would be int...

Re: Sage series collection - What's the next Sage?

Hey Bolster , have you tried the Leaf Jumper yet? Slightly slimmer in pocket than the Manix and the overall edge profile(footprint) is more in line with the Manix. More straight than belly. I know it lacks jimping and a boye dent. However, the extreme hump proves the jimping useless and the ease of ...

Re: Sage series collection - What's the next Sage?

I would love a new run of the Sage 2. It would be rather cool to update the RIL to what it is today with the ceramic ball interface. Just my selfish desire, I would prefer that to even a new lock. And I know it would be in high demand. It would not sit around.

Re: Should I buy a Sage 5 lw or Paramilitary 2 as my first Spyderco?

As long as it is not a counterfeit, you will be happy with either. 😂 Welcome to the forum! I agree with Gernot that the PM2 would be more versatile and give you a bit more blade. However, I personally really like the Sage series. It is extremely well finished, smooth to operate and disappears in you...

Re: The Edge Is A Ghost?

*Sorry if me and Synov are going off topic* I find it interesting, but I'll leave it be, and get back to the knives. You get the last word here Synov. Thank you for the discussion. Heck no you better not! The topic is about the ghost. Seems rather on topic to me and very interesting. Even if my sim...

Re: Lil' Temp 3 & Short Thick Blades

Yeah, I don't know. I would trust my Para 3 more than my FFG Delica. But I see what you are saying Gernot about the Salt version. I'll have to compare it to my Pac Salt in LC200N. Almost more of a sheepsfoot blade shape or more specifically sheepsfoot tip. Now, I should have compared it to my Salt 2...

Re: Lil' Temp 3 & Short Thick Blades

I have often looked at this model to compete with my two current favorites for house remodeling which are the Manix 2 and the Para 3. The Para 3 actually has a pretty stout tip compared to a lot of its counterparts. This is a surprising statement to me Jeff, but of course it has weight to it due to...

Re: Sage series collection - What's the next Sage?

I don't see how they could offer far better reliability. What I meant to say is: "Wouldn't a coil spring offer far better reliability?" (When I did a quick search on Wolff springs, all I saw were coil springs.) A coil spring like on the Manix seems extraordinarily more reliable. However, ...

Re: Sage series collection - What's the next Sage?

I believe Hogue uses Wolff Springs. Wouldn't that indicate far better spring reliability, cf the omega spring? Maybe with name recognition. I gifted my Hogue away and did not have enough time with it to determine personally how reliable it was. Back in the day I carried a Bugout quite often. Did ha...

Re: Sage series collection - What's the next Sage?

The Crossbar (Axis) Lock seems to be gaining much more in popularity since the Benchmade patent ran out in 2016 (you still can’t call it Axis lock due to trademarks). I’ve gotten several impressive ones from various brands with different names for the Crossbar Lock: — Hogue - ABLE Lock — Kershaw - ...
