Suingab ( https://g10.lt/ ) gets my vote. Fit and finish to rival the factory ones and a nice and easy going guy to deal with.

Re: Blemishes? Advice Needed

Just be lucky it’s not H1, ha. I’m a user myself, but I was a bit surprised that my dragonfly salt put an arced scratched (more significant than yours) right out of the box. I get the concern if it’s a safe queen. But to me they’re cutting implements first, pseudo art second. An unused knife is like...

I just checked again on Amazon and all the Opus for $119 are gone. There were 17 of them last night.

2 in stock as of 60 seconds ago. I got a shipping confirmation today, it says DHL global though? Weird.

Re: Caribbean DIY scale mod AKA How to (Almost) ruin a Caribbean

Haven’t had much time to work on these lately. Getting there, just about ready to re-dye the g10 before doing the final fill coats. Trying to determine the best method to ensure I redrill the hardware holes to the right depth. I was considering putting a tiny bit of molding clay in each recess befor...

Re: Anyone Dyed Yellow Salt FRN Scales to a Light Cyan Blue?

dye resize 1.jpgI initially wanted to dye my salt as close to cyan as possible. Yellow dyed to green +blue = cyan. Neon green wasn't available locally, so I used the sapphire blue. A quick dip in sapphire blue turns the knife much more teal green/turquoise than cyan. If you try it, I'd dye it full ...

Re: Mule Team quantity discussion

Hi All, Thanx for your participation. Some additional thoughts on things like pre-sell or clubs, much of the demand has come from new people coming into the Spyderco world. If we pre-sell, the new people that will come in after the steel has been ordered will increase demand that we cannot predict?...

Re: Classy, heirloom Spydie

Pattadese with custom wood scales. I liked the suggestion of the Pattadese, Italian made which I prefer over the chaparral even though there’s nothing wrong with that. But as an heirloom, American made or Italian.

I just ordered one myself and put my money where my mouth is.

Re: Mule Team quantity discussion

I hate to say it, but the solution I see working the best is going to be the least popular option: put the middlemen in and normal markup as well. It has been fantastic being able to try new steels without breaking the bank, but as far as I can see, that ride is over. The word has spread, the Mules...

Re: Mule Team quantity discussion

The presale model that Kickstarter/Indiegogo uses would be great, and it’s become much more popular these days. I know I’ve waited quite some time even on some products that didn’t turn out so great from freshman companies. Since it’s Spyderco and an already refined/established piece, that takes mu...

Re: Mule Team quantity discussion

I vastly prefer the "presale and wait till you get it" approach to this problem. Most of these responses are crafted from the perspective that the primary goal of the existence of these is to produce performance and market feedback for a new potential steel to be offered in other subsequen...

That price on the Opus sounds great. Grabbing one. Thanks. Considering a Q Ball at 99 but the reviews aren't good. I need to check here for opinions from people who know spydies.
Where is the q ball 99$?
It’s been that price on Amazon for quite some time.

Spyderco Opus at Amazon, sold by Photos4less for $119.99 only:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0722 ... _569163470

It's a big bargain already for a large knife with S30V and G10.
Thanks for the heads up!

Re: Caribbean DIY scale mod AKA How to (Almost) ruin a Caribbean

Bro, id go abalone in the gap or leave it black. Thanks Salty, do you mean leave it black opal and sprinkle (pave) the center? Since it’s the black opal I think it’ll hide the fact that the g10 stripes are gone a lot easier. I’m going to sand the rest of the center flat, and re-dye it so I can work...

Re: Caribbean DIY scale mod AKA How to (Almost) ruin a Caribbean

Wow it all comes in to focus when you see the second pic of scale 2. I thought for sure it would be a failure. Nice work so far, I'm not sure how your gonna tie it all together but looks good. What side is your clip on? Not sure if your left or right handed but that might change a few things. I’m a...

Thanks for the replies guys, I’m hoping I can salvage the first scale. Pokey, I checked out that photo that looks pretty neat and a lot like the scale when the red is flashing. Caribbean DIY scale mod AKA How to (Almost) ruin a Caribbean

Well I figured I'd share the results thus far after jumping into modding my Caribbean scales....definitely a work in progress and without much reverence to prototyping or R&D--this is definitely a lets wing it and roll with the punches scenario. First, I thought I'd mix some blue/green pearl, an...
