Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

Have been thinking of selling off my '02 C60 so I poked my head back in here to see if they ever ended up making the new ones. Apparently they did, and I somehow talked myself into grabbing one. Well, assuming Sooner State Knives actually has them in stock and can fulfill the order.

It's a sickness.

Re: How do you EDC your Mule?

I'm in the same boat as you, Cscottsss. Had been hoping to carry it horizontally up front but the handle does hang out and print a good amount. I've been carrying a Bradford G-Necker horizontally next to my belt buckle for a while now and love it, and it put a whole bunch of pocket folders back in t...

Re: Spy27 Mule in use and testing feedback

Looks like the knife’s first job will be trying to open up the boltaron sheath enough so that it will actually fit in. What I’m most curious about though is how the sheath maker got the blade out after it had been formed.

Re: Third Party Handle Makers (please add website)

I grabbed a pair of Halpern’s flat scales. Called about a week ago and they just arrived today. I guess they must have been left overs from the last previous run. They look great, but the knife doesn’t arrive until Monday so will have to check the fit then. I have a TRM Neutron and Atom with their C...

Re: Boltaron Sheath?

I'm guessing the answer is yes, but can the clip be spun 90 degrees so that these sheaths can be worn horizontally?

Re: Z-Max mule!

Is there any sort of a heads up when they become available or do I need to just check here (and there) obsessively until they're posted?

Re: Favorite Pocket Knives

Depending on the day it’s either a Spydiechef, a TRM Atom or a Sebenza 21, though the PM2 Max is grabbing a good amount of pocket time lately.

Good lord guys, it’s not a custom job!! The screw holes are in the wrong position on the scales! It’s so clearly a fake it’s not even funny.
They're in the exact same position as they are on mine. Maybe I got a fake at the seconds sale?

Re: What the heck is this??

One vote for custom PM2. The bug lanyard seems like an unnecessary (and costly) extra step for a fake, unless your buddy put it on.

Does the grind cross the spideyhole in a consistent location on a given knife model? The grind on the PM2 in my pocket covers more of the hole than on that one.

Re: What do you think of metal handles?

Titanium is good to go. I have a couple of aluminum handled knives that I’ll never sell, but aluminum doesn’t seem to hold a finish well. I’ll take either over FRN though.

Another popped up on their site, this one a little more reasonably priced.
This one ended up being LNIB. No sign of it being used or carried. :D

Re: How Do Your Factory Seconds Look?

Looking down the spine of my PM2 it looks almost like it leans left toward the tip but laying it flat on the edge of a surface it doesn’t actually curve. I’d guess someone tried to cheat a very slight warp with a slightly uneven grind. It worked out and looks good as far as I’m concerned.

Re: How Do Your Factory Seconds Look?

Maxamet Native 5 looks pretty flawless aside from the notch. No warp. Maybe it’s cursed or haunted or something? Maxamet PM2 looks excellent. Upon further review I’m not sure there’s an issue with the blade at all, the centering just needed the slightest adjustment. No complaints whatsoever. Sun &am...

Re: Count the eBay Flips of Seconds...

I haven’t checked the prices but it’s of course possible that some of the listings are people who weren’t thrilled with what they got and are just trying to recover their cost (+shipping?).

Re: How Do Your Factory Seconds Look?

That's great - snail trails are an inconsequential fact of life with those scales anyway. The one in my pocket right now is covered in them and it certainly doesn't make me love the knife any less. Enjoy it.

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

Does the blade shape rule out certain steels? It's tough to envision in a matte blade finish, but maybe I'm too hung up on the look of the original. I feel like it should even have a yellow spyder on the clip. :D
