Para 3 LW Spy27 worth the price?
I don't know much about different steels so hoping this question isn't too dumb and I did try to search first. Is the Spy27 any more corrosion resistant than CTS-BD1N? My initial interest in the Spy27 Para 3 coming out is the color of the scales, I just don't care for the black of the regular LW ver...

Re: Meerkat phantom lock
I am left-handed myself and interested in the Meerkat. I was able to find some videos on youtube that showed left-hand use, just search Spyderco Meerkat left hand.

Re: Blades slightly above legal limit
I regularly ride my bike with a machete (CRKT ChanceInHell). It's intent that matters in that case. I do it when cleaning up trails. You made me laugh there. After reading the first half of the sentence, I was envisioning something like you'd see on Tosh.0. Then I got to the part about trail work. ...

Re: Blades slightly above legal limit
Mississippi is knife friendly. I once saw a guy riding a bike with a machete on his hip. I could walk around with my kabar on my belt if I wanted to. I like that kind of freedom. I regularly carry 4 inch folders. No one really bat's an eye. I regularly ride my bike with a machete (CRKT ChanceInHell...

Re: Recs for Self Defense while running/biking?
Thanks everyone, I appreciate all the advice. I will probably go with the Tasman. Maybe a Native salt (too?) cause I see it being useful in other ways and I like the look. I don’t expect to ever have to use the knife in a self defense situation (at least not against a person) it would just make my f...

Re: Recs for Self Defense while running/biking?
I like the looks of the Tasman!
I do really like the Chaparral but I know it would get wet while running or biking and I wouldn't be able to dry it for a while. Maybe for another EDC option though.

Recs for Self Defense while running/biking?
Good morning everyone! I'm new to the knife world but have already gotten quite obsessed. I currently EDC a Civivi Ortis but I NEED a Spyderco (I'm sure you understand). I often run or bike alone in fairly secluded areas and for some reason my family worries about my safety, something to do with me ...
