Sages and Chaparrals are sad surprises (for my wallet this year..)
I know, it was really surprising to see that. Glad I got the Sun/Moon during the MAP holiday.

Didn't vote...I would prefer my next 15V blade be in a Chaparral or...hope against hope...a LW Caly.
I'm completely with you on this, however I'm not sure Taichung can handle the HT or the grind as Shawn just detailed above

Re: Today I got…

I'm in North Carolina, on my carbon steel blades I usually start out with a treatment of Eagles Tears which is food safe. But my daily before I put it back in the case is a microfiber with a little bit of mineral oil on it. I don't have any issues with corrosion and I have a really nice natural pati...

Re: On hold until expansion

they discovered abandoned and forgotten coal mines underneath the site That's what they want you to think. Really, the site was chosen so they could mine the coal and use it to feed the new smelter and foundry that's being built. When the new facility is finished, the dodgy delivery schedules from ...

Re: Chinese Budget Folders In M4: What Does The Future Hold?

That is, if you consider $133 a "budget" option. I think, with all things considered, it is. Admittedly, the $85 M4 Delica deal a month or two ago does take the wind out of my sails a bit. Considering all the D2 options out there for under $50, that I got a Kizer Sheepdog in 10V for $89 a...

In addition to all the "regular" construction issues on a project of this size. Eric mentioned on a Livestream that as the project got underway that they discovered abandoned and forgotten coal mines underneath the site that had to be assessed and then stabilized/filled in before they coul...

Re: Chinese Budget Folders In M4: What Does The Future Hold?

If we use a Chinese "version" of another steel, we would call it by it's Chinese designation. sal Sal can you address what the HRC range on the steel is? From what I've seen your 8Cr is about as good as it gets from China so I expect that your OEM will hit what you're asking them to do, I...

Re: 15V, after the mule, what's next?

Native Chief! Manix 2 XL! Astute? The astute is such an amazing sleeper of a design. Seriously, get it in your hands and see how much blade is in that little ergonomic handle. I would buy a couple in any upgraded steel like s35vn I've got one that's been custom rebladed in AEB-L that's amazing. (Do...

Re: I think we’re reaching the limit

Don't buy knives as an investment. Buy them because you are genuinely enthusiastic about them. You'l be satisficed knowing that you got to experience them before passing them on. That is worth something. And that's exactly why I was excited about the 15V Manix 2. It's my favorite model and I knew t...

Anyone want to hazard a guess on the HT? I'm guessing 62, with lesser odds on 61 or 63.
The Mule was 62 and mine performed well but given the way other makers have brought it to market at 62-63 I would hope for 63-64.

Re: Caly 3.5 LW status

The maker for this model is a smaller maker that generally requires patience. sal Sal. Is K390 a option with this maker? That steel with the profile and geometry of the 3.5 would be insanely slicey! Oh and thank you so much for the continued commitment to high performance steels, I'm blown away by ...

Re: Sprint Run Super Blue Dragonfly

How is everyone liking the steel on this one? How does it compare to the standard VG-10 for general EDC? Mine came with a beautifully exquisite edge which frankly given my experiences with other Seki City knives was very surprising. It was truly scary sharp out of the box and I've used it for lots ...

I have a old clipit SE in the trauma kit and various other knives and multi tools in the car. But attached to the passenger head rest is a dedicated seatbelt cutter and glass breaker.

Re: Why is the Kapara so overlooked ?

I have to concentrate more when unlocking the Kapara because of its skinny and relatively slicker scales. Sometimes I feel like I might accidentally drop it while manipulating the compression lock. This is exactly why I sold mine, as nice as it is I found that it was getting carried less and less.

Re: CPM SPY 27 Long Term Use

I bought the SPY27 Manix 2 lightweight shortly after it was released, it has been my primary summertime carry now for almost 2 years and gets plenty of use the other times of the year. I initially put a 17°edge on it @800 grit. Use includes everything from kitchen duty and cardboard breakdown throug...

Why not just order from one of the 100 distributors instead of SFO??
OPFOCUS discount, and nobody else in the business treats those of us who earned it like that. But I certainly do try to support my favorite distributors.

If that design actually comes out I think it's going to be one of the most polarizing releases in years. I think it's an abomination but then again I don't like clip points and fullers so take that for what you will.
