Re: Is the Endura still well loved in 2023?
Most of us have ‘em. Many of us carry them in one form or another. My guess is the Endura is still plenty loved but obviously is not the newest/hottest design so they quietly serve on in our pockets. Hard to think of a more capable cutting tool to be honest.

Re: What makes a steel 'aggressive'?
Just my two cents- I think personal sharpening style and technique plays a role, so some steels may be more “aggressive” or grabby or whatever for one person vs another individual. For me, it seems like ZDP, XHP, LC200N, BD1N, and to some extent Cruwear like to get this way with the stones and techn...

Re: Reveal 14 is on FIRE
This is the coolest overall reveal since I caught the Spyderco sickness about 4 years ago. That said, my collection is pretty flush and the only MUST HAVE for me is the Catcherman. What a cool design and I can’t belief how much blade you get for the weight, and SO thin!

Re: FOMO or No?
The first 3 years I got in to Spyderco I averaged 10-15 knives per year. Now that I’ve got the core collection of stuff I really like I’ve slowed down a ton. I’ve sold a few and replaced them with backups/sprints of favorite models. Trying to get out and use them more as well as paying attention to ...

Re: Crazy Good Deals Part 2!!
Blade HQ has a Spyderco sale including Military 2 for less ham $200. Not much there to interest me right now but worth a look.
Edit: it’s for a pre-order military 2, which has $5 down payment

Re: St. Nick’s Exclusive red and black Goddard!
I’m enjoying mine: lightweight, comfy handle, great build quality. To me, it’s got the blade of the Slysz bowie with a handle like a larger, flattened Siren. Love that it’s a linerless FRN.

Love me some ZDP. Easy to sharpen, takes a stupid sharp edge for me and keeps it a while. Have never managed to rust it either.

I use a Moran drop point for skinning and quartering and a ZDP Delica for fine work like unzipping and working around the rear end.

Re: Who needs a lanyard hole?
I use them for small to very small folders instead of a pocket clip. My dragonflies, ladybugs, Manbug all have lanyards. Even one Delica has a bright orange lanyard and rides in my hunting pack, clip removed.

Re: Siren Sprint S90
Have both, love both. I was considering buying a backup of the LC200N Siren but just got the sprint instead. I’m glad I did because both are great quality but the S90V and carbon fiber are such a nice combo for EDC. Now my Salt version just comes out when I’m on the water

Re: Can we get a ZDP Straight Spine Stretch in British Racing Green?
I have found ZDP to be much easier to sharpen. For some reason I have a hard time getting a really sticky sharp edge on K390 despite having the proper tools- need to practice with that one more. ZDP, on the other hand, is a breeze to deburr and gets wicked sharp. Other than that I think they’re pret...

Welcome! Very nice spread of blades you’ve got there- I have the satin version of your Chief and it is excellent. Be careful- you will likely expand your collection a lot of you hang out here haha.

Re: best locking mechanism for deer hunting folder?
There is absolutely no reason to use a folder for field dressing a deer. It's just silly. Tell that to the generations of hunters who carried nothing more than a Buck 110 every fall when it was time to go fill the freezer. My grandfather’s old brass folder has dressed dozens of Arkansas white tails...

Re: I’m an indecisive giant. Millie vs Chief!
Both excellent. To me, the Military had the better ergos and blade shape and I love the way the linerlock works with this model. The Chief has the nicer materials- I prefer S90V to S110V any day. The ergos and geometry are very good, but not my favorite between the two. Tough choice, neither is wron...

I will second that! ZDP is one of my favorites, just seems to want to get sharp.

Also XHP AND LC200N- joyful to sharpen and take a wicked edge. I think BBB nailed it when he talked about ease of deburring, that counts for a lot.

Re: First impression of my new Endura ZDP-189...
Very underrated, beautiful tool. Love how sharp it gets while not being too hard to sharpen. I’ve never managed to rust ZDP either. The ZDP Delica is my second Spyderco ever and I carry it and the Endura when I’m in the mood for something classic that cuts like crazy.
