Re: Price point….

I agree on the Chap. One can buy FatCarbon scales and slap them on for the same price. There should be some economic advantage to buying fatcarbon scales from Spyderco directly. This one made me fall out of my chair.

Companies will always raise prices as much as they can. The reasons are immaterial ...

Re: Spydiechef Scales

That I have not seen. I imagine someone could make some custom scales for you if you provide the original scales. Tolerances are very tight and I would not be suprised if a scale from 2 years ago may not exactly be the same as today.

Re: Screw on Para2 just keeps spinning but I can’t remove it

If you have two torx screw drivers, you might be able to tighten both back in. And then carefully, with a bit of trial and error, screw both out simultaneously. It worked for me the other day when one screw side just wanted to spin.

Re: Para3 cpm 15v BBB

Very hard to predict. Some reveals take a full year or more to drop. Inside info is hit or miss. And even then, "soon" can mean another 6 months. Dealers seem to have a better idea but often just weeks in advance.

Thanks for the replies!

Re: sales tax

I inquired with Spyderco about 4 months ago on this very issue and Finance replied that they can only charge one sales tax price per state. They cannot do it per zip code. They said they are going to move to a new system but I guess that is not a priority for them to charge accurate sales tax. It is ...

Re: Incorrect Spyderco Sales Tax

I think the state gets it and not Spyderco. That would be my understanding.

And yes, it is not that much in practicality but across many customers in a locale where many govt and military work, it should be fixed.

Incorrect Spyderco Sales Tax

Anybody ever check their sales tax from the SpyderCo store and realize its incorrect. Northern Virginia zip is being charged 7% instead of 6%. Two emails have gone unresponded. (Customer Service on the phone was very nice however and directed me to email). Not big on paying extra sales tax when it ...

Regular production but not always in stock. It is less in stock than it is in stock due to popularity and the amount available on the website. You have to monitor closely as it can become in stock and deplete within a few days.

Re: Spyderco Shaman excessive blade play with skinny scales

Yes, exactly. The pivot screws were both just about a thread too long each. I shaved each one down with a file, shortening them and causing them to clamp down tighter, also pulling the scales and liners closer together. This fixed my blade play problem perfectly.

I tried swapping the pivot ...

Re: Spyderco Shaman excessive blade play with skinny scales

When you say shaved down, you mean shortening the length of the pivot screws, thereby allowing the scales to clamp down closer together? Is the idea that the pivot screws were bottoming out at each other? I ask because I have a bit of side to side play after changing my Shaman scales.

Re: The Magnacut Paramilitary 2

I was looking the liners and they seem a bit different than the standard PM2. Do you think aftermarket scales like flytanium will fit without modification on the magnacut PM2 just released? I saw the question posted early but there was not a clear answer.

Re: The Magnacut Paramilitary 2

Mine was a little tight in the pivot on arrival but I’ve learned to leave it alone and it’ll loosen with use. Sure enough, it’s smoothed out over the past week and has great action now. That’s been my experience with a lot of coated blades and I’ve come to expect it.

My Magnacut PM2 actually ...

SALT Liners

As I look admiring at my most recent Salt knife addition, I got curious about the liners. Much is said about the blade material, e.g, Magnacut, LC200N, but less is said about the liners. Except "fearless corrosion resistant" and "marine-grade". Since S90V and many others are considered stainless ...

Re: Handle Scale Vendors

I just purchased some carbon fiber shaman scales from flytanium so I will report back. This will be my first time doing anything to any Spyderco knife. There are plenty of videos online so how tough can it be?! The current action on my Shaman is a bit stiff so I hope to get some nice scales on it ...

Re: Spymyto is hot!

I think its peculiar that the blade thickness of the SpyMyTo is .157inches! Design wise I would not expect it. In comparison the military grade Military 2 is .145in. So is the PM2. The Manix 2 and XL are just .125. The Shaman is even .145. I wonder why that decision was made unless to save on cost ...
