Re: Spyderco 50th Anniversary Knife?
That would really be challenging to do in any production setting. Trying to guess how many we would need is not possible. sal Exactly. The "on all knives for the year" thing doesn't work. I agree a special alteration of some kind (bug logo, extra logo, engraving) would be awesome, but it ...

Re: Spyderco 50th Anniversary Knife?
I like the idea. https://forum.spyderco.com/download/file.php?id=57470 This looks great! Now I don't think that they'll end up putting it on every model for the year, as I don't see that as super feasible or reasonable. But whatever model they do release should have this bug for sure. Hopefully we'...

Re: Salt 2 vs Native 5 Salt
Ended up grabbing the N5 just to compare... First thing I notice is that it's much better for me ergonomically. The Salt now feels a little too small in my hands. I can get a more controlled grip closer to the blade due to that big 'ol choil. Haven't carried or cut yet, but the N5 definitely wins fo...

Re: Salt 2 vs Native 5 Salt
I suppose it might have been more clear/concise if I hadn't related it to myself at all.
A better way to put it:
These two knives are very similar. Have you handled both/either? How do they compare for you?

Salt 2 vs Native 5 Salt
So I currently have a Salt 2 SE LC200N. However, I've been noticing the very similar Native 5 Salt SE LC200N. I'm wondering if it's worth picking one up to see if it could potentially replace my Salt. What do y'all think about these two knives? https://i.imgur.com/FEGV9kp.png https://i.imgur.com/HK...

Re: How the Schempp Rock got me to stop buying 6" knives
Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. First thing I did notice was the angle of the handle, which I imagine would help with slashing much more than the in-line handle on a lot of fixed blades like the G6.
Thanks!

Do you have any experience with the Bradford Guardian 5 or 6?
I currently own a 5.5 and love it, so I'd be interested to hear how they compare.

Re: Sliverax flipper removed?
Just picked up the Spyderco Sliverax, and good God do I love this knife. I have no interest whatsoever in getting rid of the flipper tab, as some have. But I'd be curious to hear from anyone who has altered their Sliverax to exclude the flipper, and to see if you are now happy or regretful about th...

Re: sal can we get some new Lil Matriarchs?
You know you can do that, right? My Lil Matriarch is waved and ringed, and all my Ma2s are ringed. Yes, I am aware that there are rings available. And I was not trying to say that spyderco should offer rings, either. What I was saying was that they should release new Lil Matriarchs so that I can go...

Re: sal can we get some new Lil Matriarchs?
I love the idea of a reverse S blade with a spyderedge paired with a signet ring, but with the large endura size handle on the Matriarch 2, a reverse grip leaves an inch plus between my hand and the blade. The Lil Matriarch would be perfectly sized, so I would definitely welcome a return!!

While it'd be nice for spyderco to supply tantos to all those who like them, the reality is that the production of tantos would mean decreased production of everything else... as someone who does not care for tantos, I'd prefer this reality not come to fruition. I just do not see the appeal in needi...

Re: On the fence: Cruwear PM2, S45VN PM2...a couple questions before pulling trigger
I do live in coastal south Florida but do not go out on the saltwater, boat, beach or fish at all. Not sure if corrosion resistance alone would be a deal breaker on the Cruwear. If it's not a big deal to you, then Cruwear. Otherwise, S45VN. Both are imo the best steels the PM2 has come in. I person...

Re: Spydiechef front flipper mod
The detent on my chefs are not too strong, and I think the amount of detent plus the action would work really well for a front flipper. I actually love front flippers, from cheaper Civivi Exarchs to Boos Smokes, and I'm considering a fif20... The thing with that chef that sticks out to me is the hei...

Re: Are you interested in a new run of Spyderhawk hawkbill?
Agreed. Magnacut is cool, but you know what's better than a marginal improvement in steel? Actually having the knife! LC200N is great, and would suit the knife well.VooDooChild wrote: ↑Tue Mar 29, 2022 8:58 pmThe magnacut people dont speak for the rest of us.
If lc200n/h1 is faster and cheaper then I would gladly take that.

Re: Taking apart knives - part 2
I took apart my new PM2 cruwear micarta because the detent didn't seem right. I didn't known if the new model was intentionally made this way that's why I investigated. Found a QC problem when the detent ball was pressed in. Being able to take apart knives is a good idea for cleaning, oil, and chec...
