Am I the only one who wants to see a 3/16ths + stock LC200N or Magna cut camp knife? I will probably soon have a custom made in LC200N chunky, tough beater camp knife because none seem to exist on the market.
I have had good luck with chapstick, I got that tip from reading someone’s post on it and it works great and it is obviously food safe. The chapstick adds an extra chance to prevent corrosion on knives that I want to keep looking nice that seems to me last longer than some oil coatings. I just touch...
I live by the ocean and with high edge retention tool steels after a week what was a hair popping sharp blade becomes an edge that shaves, but not like before and that is without use. My solution has become zip lock sandwich bags to keep the knives and chap stick to cover the edge. Beeswax works too.
I would have names this knife MTE AKA “More Than Enough” I did way back when it was first mentioned by Sal. He thought the name was too long! We can only try, right? Maybe a Forum version with More Than Enuff on the blade for those of us with the same thought? :winking-tongue Some people require mo...
:winking-tongue :winking-tongue :winking-tongue Put that in your pipe and smoke it :winking-tongue :winking-tongue What about making one of these for a pipe that is at an angle ? I would love to see the return of the Spyderco Balance. Perhaps a Balance lightweight revival? https://morethanjustsurviv...
I must have been 6 years old. Had a few Case looking traditional slip joints that I took from my Dads garage. I learned the hard way can end up biting you.
I like the Kiwi. Can we have a Kiwi XL with 3.5” blade? Maybe a lightweight? Magnacut Kiwi XL would raise some eyebrows. I prefer it to be Carbon Fiber or G-10. The Kiwi design is awesome.
I am one of the biggest proponents of LC200N. If you don’t have experience with it, you should. It tunes up an edge so easily. It should be a large camp knife due to its toughness and imperviousness to corrosion. I have a dozen years of experience with this steel. I would love to see an XL Spyderch...
There is a niche for a premium Chinese chef knife imho but I had to go custom to get mine. Perhaps the economy of scale path is to do the cheaper to produce one and test the market and better materials later. I can see a VG10 steel being the first release. This knife is about utility, function, form...
Quite interesting for the diamond particles. I was suggesting adding diamond or boron nitride to ceramic blades for a few reasons. The diamonds would add the “toothy” edge like super steels with the added carbides because the ceramic is sharp but does not “feel” sharp and the added “toothiness” woul...
https://vargooutdoors.com/products/sobata-398 https://youtu.be/dRbwOtZT12Q Trying to learn about this material. I am definitely interested in comparing it to HIC that will come out in a Mike soon. Seems Scintered titanium goes back to 1973 but is this a new thing? They are using it in a blade steel....
