Re: Siren - strange lock movement
I'd be putting in an extra pin like cold steels triad lock and tweaking the design, which I believe is the best lockback design one the planet. I own a lot of both cold steel and Spyderco lock backs, over 10 of each. The quality and toughness of the triad and its rock solid lock ups is out of this w...

Same happens with my P3 lightweight, there's a few mm play when closed.
Might get the Dremel onto it like suggested here.

This brings back memories of when Buster Douglas knocked out Mike Tyson.

Re: To DLC or not to DLC?
Yes, really like the all blacked out look, attracts less attention in public than a flashy silver blade too.
Extra corrosion resistance too is hardy, although the rust gets under it fairly easily.
Spyderco do very good DLC from my experience, tends to be tougher than a lot of other brands coatings.

Re: Good all around knife for working around the house & yard
I use a Byrd Cara Cara 2 rescue as my pruning knife, works like a dream. I look after orphaned and sick native animals, many require fresh native plants daily. I got the orange model so its easy to find, the 8cr serrations have actually held their edge ok surprisingly, considering im cutting some fa...

Not a bad idea, with the nice Spyderco logo on the end maybe.
While we are on the topic of new ideas, a Spyderco gentlemans folding straight razor would be awesome too.

Re: I don't think the Stretch 2 is boring.
Changing the blade shape to a straight spine, from a really interesting blade shape with a bit of strength behind the tip, was a fail imo, it lost all its charm and uniqueness, but each to their own. Theres so many straight spine sypderco folders, ive got plenty, it is a bit same old after a while. ...

Fantastic knife, one of my favourite and most used.
Id be all over a larger version, that grande looks amazing.
Such a handy and cool blade shape, really underrated, an underrated Spyderco all round.

Disappointed it changed to a straight spine like many other spydercos.
The charm in the last stretch was the blade shape.

You all are really unpleasant. One expects a serious answer, and they come up with this **** for 5-year-olds. I'm 18 and I'm already big. I've used knifes for long. I'm only looking for a thicker cutting edge/blade knife with characteristics similar to Chaparral like being small like the Dragonfly ...

Re: I grossly underestimated the Native Chief
Just a follow up on the chief, mine arrived from the states and its perfect!, thanks Spyderco. Rock solid lock up, well centred, really nice grind on both sides and one of the sharpest out of the box spydercos ive ever got. Agree with Evil, its a brilliant slicer. I very thinly sliced an apple like ...

Re: Caribbean Which Blade--My First Spyderco
Great choice, its a fantastic knife, one of spydercos best, I use mine nearly every day.
I went with the PE leaf after thinking very hard about getting the serrated model, im very happy.
Id suggest you don't get a SE as your first Spyderco, the safe option is plain edge.
cheers

I doubt even if Ted Bundy or Gary Ridgway owned it as their daily flipper it would fetch 5k.
