For those of you that successfully ordered, was there a confirmation email? If so, how long before it showed up?
Almost immediately.

Re: 2020 Seconds Sale - BREAKING NEWS

I understand the frustration, but I think Spyderco is doing what they can do under the circumstances. Yes, I had to try multiple times, lots of refreshing, even had to re-enter my card number, and I'm on cellular internet, but I still managed to get a knife I wanted, and I'm thankful to Spyderco for...

Re: Annual Top 10 List: 2020

My list is shorter, just got back into knives this year. Some I still have, others have been passed on as I try to determine my likes. At least one that I let go I plan to buy again. 1. SpydieChef 2. PM2 Maxamet (got this from the seconds sale and had to add to list as a tie) 2. Smock 3. Manix 2 Mic...

Re: A call for help

Sharpening would also be a good distraction. I agree with the sharpening part. Get a good sharpener, and you could spend hours on each knife getting it to a mirror edge. DO NOT START WITH YOUR BEST KNIFE! The Smock, oh man, it's one knife I'm thinking about purchasing again. It's fidget city. My fa...

What do you consider the ideal model?

Re: FRN/Lightweights: I just can’t get into them

Even with the pivot screws removed, it likely isnt dropping shut because of the pinned screws above it just behind the jimping on the blade (drawing a major brain fart as to what those are) are keeping it held tight. Over time, it will loosen up. I had a LW model once...but now have (5) G10 models,...

Re: FRN/Lightweights: I just can’t get into them

I can take the pivot screws out and it still won't drop shut :) If the Rex45 had screws instead of pins, I know what I'd do, I've tightened the pivot screws back up and loosened just a bit, just before blade play starts. Blew out with compressed air and oiled again. Hopefully it will loosen. The G10...

Re: FRN/Lightweights: I just can’t get into them

I have 2 Manix 2's, one in G10, which I just got, and the other is a Rex45 LW, I've had it for a few weeks and have used it a bit. The thing I noticed is that the G10 falls shut when the lock is released, the Rex45 one, not so much even after a few weeks of use. Is that inherent to the different kni...

Re: Would like suggestions on Spyderco's to look at next

Everybody has their own preference but it is hard to beat the Stretch, in any version, as a real user blade. It might remind you a little of your old Pro-Hunter... :spyder: https://i.imgur.com/wmJij6o.jpg?1 I have been noticing the Stretch, especially the straight spine version, and the history of ...

Re: Would like suggestions on Spyderco's to look at next

Welcome to the forum tomcat! How about a SE Caribbean in LC200N or the upcoming Pacific Salt 2 in same steel? Do you have any objections to fixed blades? MuleTeam #28 is coming up soon. I had noticed the Caribbean, and really like the blade shape, but I haven't got past the scales yet. I have not s...

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?

Use the Manix 2 in Rex45 to cut the ropes, wire ties, tape, foam, tubing, off of an old climbing stand and replace with new. Managed to nick the edge really close to the tip in the process, so had to fix that right away on the Lansky and Sharpmaker! This is why I have set my rule that in order to ha...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

I did a difficult thing today. Left the SpydieChef home and brought the Manix 2 Rex45 and the Shaman. Figured I'd use something else if I could leave the Chef.

We'll see how it goes :)

Re: Would like suggestions on Spyderco's to look at next

The Manix 2 LW Rex45 arrived today. I like it. I'm not sure I like it enough for it to replace the SpydieChef in my right front pocket, but it may alternate with the Shaman for left back left pocket. It appears to be very new, so not broken in good yet. Almost drop shut with the Ball Bearing Lock, w...
