Sharpening would also be a good distraction. I agree with the sharpening part. Get a good sharpener, and you could spend hours on each knife getting it to a mirror edge. Shaman - still can't get used to the bump hitting my finger while using the compression lock.

Even with the pivot screws removed, it likely isnt dropping shut because of the pinned screws above it just behind the jimping on the blade (drawing a major brain fart as to what those are) are keeping it held tight. Use the Manix 2 in Rex45 to cut the ropes, wire ties, tape, foam, tubing, off of an old climbing stand and replace with new.
