Re: PM2 Conundrum

I’ve had my cruwear micarta pm2 for a few months now and it’s been great, action, lockup, etc. All of a sudden today opening it got more and more stiff to where I couldn’t flick it and it took a fair amount of effort to slow roll it open. Curious thing is that it still falls shut just fine and if I...

Re: PM2 compression lock issue after disassembly

hi, I've got some new micarta scales for my PM2 and disassembled the knife and put the new scales on. Now, I adjusted the blade that it runs smooth when opened and is in the middle when closed. However, I feel a stronger resistance from the locking ball when opening the blade, also when closing the...

Re: Where oh Where have all the high end PS blades gone?

I'm going to keep posting this until maybe someday it gets made, but with the scarcity of any serrated Militaries it may just be a pipe dream. https://live.staticflickr.com/887/39359510240_13bc74c3cb_z.jpg I know I just posted this recently, there was just a combo edge topic. Seems to be coming up ...

Started with an Arkansas stone as a kid, then to a DMT sharpener, now mostly use a sharpmaker.

Re: Temporal Edge Retention

I’ve been noticing a phenomenon for the last few years…some steels keep their front end sharpness over time without any use and others seem to very subtly dull, even without use. I’m not sure what makes this happen…it seems to be a subcategory or edge stability. Maybe it’s corrosion on a microscopi...

My vote counts for little, but 15v replacing Maxamet seems like a wise change. Keep K390 on the Japanese models.

I'd REALLLLLY like to see a round of 52100 Sprints in the Seki models (Delica/Endura/Endela/Dfly/Jester/Manbug...and a few wharnies as well).
This I second.

What's everyone doing that they need so much toughness with atrocious wear resistance??
It’s not that for me.

It’s old school, tough, easy to sharpen. Great thin edge performance. (Kinda sounds like Cruwear)
Spyderco 52100 is what drew me to owning a Spyderco

What's the spyderco 52100 heat treat like? Do they go for a really high hardness?
Not sure of the number. There is a thread somewhere.
My experience with 52100 is Spyderco 52100. It’s superb, easy to sharpen, and holds a good working edge for a good amount of time.

Shaman in 52100 (anyone)?

Is it even possible or foolish thinking!

The shaman is a hit for sure; almost all the steel’s have been covered in sprints; but 52100!

This time let’s do full SE and PE

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.

I get it! I have a knife that I carried in the service that is SE. The serrations are very similar to Spyderco but shorter in depth. Of course now they are worn and smoothed out like David’s after re-profiling. I feel that (for me) they are necessary because when I need them it’s usually a mater of...
