Re: A few questions about the Opus.

I had the Opus on my radar screen for a long time (I was looking for a "Native Chief with a liner lock") but never pulled the trigger. I read some negative comments and, in addition, it was hardly discounted by almost every Internet dealer. That made me suspicious and think that the Opus would not h...

Re: Military Tanto poll

The tanto PM2 looks good . Why not the Millie “Lone Ranger” with Tanto? I have a couple of tanto blades in my collection (just for the purpose of completeness) but I never found a task that only they can perform (or would perform better). So no interest at all. In fact a Tanto Millie would look str...

I have a couple of tanto blades in my collection (just for the purpose of completeness) but I never found a task that only they can perform (or would perform better). So no interest at all. In fact a Tanto Millie would look strange to me. A sort of Military which lost its tip prying with it. No than...

Re: Why the hate of Zome?

For me that's another colour alternative. Most of my Spydies have black handles, so when I bought my first Endura, I went for the Green Zome variant. Actually, I like Zome much more than some of the colours used for the Delica, by way of example. I will add a Delica to my collection soon but I would...

Re: What is it that sets a good knife apart from a great one?

Design is all that matters. The materials and fit/finish are just trade offs for cost. One aspect that towers above all else is visual aesthetics . Like a car or a gun, a knife has to look cool or pretty. I have knives in a variety of steels, all of which are fine for most purposes. Optimum handle ...

Hahah that's awesome Julia! For the life of me, I can't understand why women's pants have such tiny little pockets.. I mean women need to carry stuff too, right?! Clever workaround! I've been debating getting some iron-on denim patches to try and curb some aggressive pocket-clip-wear in a few pairs...

Re: Another "mini" Police thread?

The Endura 4 size (3.75") would be my absolute minimum for the "Mini Police". If it is smaller (the Endela size has been mentioned) I would not be interested.

As regards the handle, anything but the original steel scales, please. They get scratched easily and are heavy and slippery.

Re: Boye dent poll. Let your voice be heard or be a sheep in a herd.

You need to add an option for "No Preference". I have both and have no preference, in safety or ergonomics. Same here. That's why I didn't vote. I don't like it ... and I don't dislike it. For me is totally irrelevant when making my purchase decision. In fact, just reading the answers, that missing...

Re: Power Lock

I would say the strength of the Tatanka's blade tip is sufficiently greater than the others you list that I would always prefer the 4.25" Tatanka Calf to the Military or Police models when outdoors, or wanting a larger knife. As I said in an earlier post, we have plenty of delicately-tipped Spyderc...

Re: Power Lock

Hi ThrottleCable, Welcome to our forum. What size are you suggesting? sal I would love to add a new Tatanka (maybe in a high-end steel) to my collection but only if it is manufactured in the original size. A downsized Tatanka with a 4" blade (or so) would look to me much like a Police 4 :( From an ...

Sorry for the naive question but I am not familiar with this type of lock. I understand that this is a variation of the lockback. Is that right? Which advantantages offers (compared to a lockback)?

Re: Wildland Firefighters Knife

Hi Menipo, I think I would prefer to make such a model on the US. sal Hi Sal, Great. The Resilience suggestion was just to lower the price and make the knife affordable for more people. But I, personally, also prefer the expensive alternative. Now that they can't hear me, I'll tell you that the kni...

Re: Wildland Firefighters Knife

Menipo, There are all kinds of Wildland firefighters. A lot of local and county fire departments have type 3 off road capable engines and we all work together. State and federal is a mix of full time professional firefighters and seasonal firefighters who work up to 9 months of the year but can wor...
