A buddy of mine wanted to try a Parata, and so did I. He was a bit short today, so I just ordered 2 - saved the shipping and we both get to try these for about half of street price. Can't complain about that!
Wouldn't your buddy be the same height every day?

Re: 2020 Seconds Sale - BREAKING NEWS

I got my confirmation pretty quickly, but that was for an order in the first hour of day 1. Have yet to see the shipping email, but not going to fault them there.

Yeah, I guess my point is, it's not something for which you should be unprepared. That's the way the world is moving.

Re: 2020 Seconds Sale - BREAKING NEWS

I think ecommerce is the future... retail is a dying form and I'd be surprised if the dealership network is any different.

That's neither here nor there, and has nothing to do with the Herculean effort put forth by the Spydercrew to make this sale happen. Props.

Re: Bought 3 factory 2nd knives after an hour of refreshing

Something that just occurred to me: I've been around this forum 5 years and after each Seconds sale there are people that post pics of their haul...I also see ebay flooded with seconds after the sale as well. However I rarely see pictures of people actually carrying or using their factory second th...

Re: 2020 Seconds Sale - BREAKING NEWS

I kind of understand that if they randomly release additional items, the flippers and botters can't schedule their attacks and the website performs overall better. Also allows people who took time off work to just do other things and wait for tweets. On the other hand, having absolutely no direction...

Re: Spyderco Online Seconds Sale FAQ

Was a pain in the hind end to get past the website error walls, but after a bit of dedicated refreshing, I managed to buy some stuff with an order confirmation.

Thanks for the hard work setting this up and overall a very happy customer!

Re: Working on Mule handles...

Agree with the point above that I like the proportions on the second. Did you regrind the blade on the S110V? It was very well used before I put the scales on it. I'd say the s110v and k390 are my most used mules. But the tape and sawdust on it in the photo don't really help, either. Oh it's tape! ...

Edit: Wanted to add - appreciate you sharing. Love seeing custom mule handles and those are very nice.

Re: What is it that sets a good knife apart from a great one?

I usually break down good knives by several factors - ergos/design, purpose, materials, and price. Availability also plays a role to a lesser extent. Ergonomics / design is always subjective. Hand size, lock type preference, aesthetics, etc. - you can't please everyone with any style. You also can't...

Re: Can we (civilly) discuss fixed blade prices?

If you want a decent fixed blade at a lower price, wait for a mule team in Spy27 or S45VN. $50 bucks for the blade, $30 bucks for the bolt sheath, wrap it in $5 bucks of paracord, and you've got a 3.4' edge fixed blade knife, full tang, in a durable steel for $85 bucks. It won't be as tough as a 3V,...

Not sure it's worth getting too in depth in the somewhat off-topic discussion, I just think I prefer other lock types.

Yeah, I've been doing the choil to the index... it works but I'm not great with it. In your first two examples, you're holding the path of the blade to begin to close the blade. That worries me.

Re: POLL: More Atlantic Salt versions (leafshape, drop point...) based on its already existing, very "pm2-ish" handle?

While I'd enjoy more models with LC200N, linerless construction, I think it loses something on the action side. I've found backlocks harder to operate one handed.
