Re: Another run of Whale Rescue Blade is needed.
Hi Fireman, So what you want is a Spyderco Machete? With teeth? sal This would be also the optimal serrated sickle outperforming and complementing the Tasman Salt SE in those delicate spots where I can't use a weedwhacker without a danger of damaging useful plants.. ideally perhaps with kama style ...

I think the Spydiechef is more suitable. But there is also the Catcherman and possibly others.

Re: Why is the Kapara so overlooked ?
For me it is its compression lock. Not only I prefer other locks or even no lock to a compression lock, but IME Taichung compression locks are simply unusable, ie pressing the tab combined with a wrist action won't close the blade. This was the case with the Sage which after failing to break it in I...

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native
I am perfectly happy with my two Chaparrals and two Dragonflies, so I can be picky and just wait for the "perfect" lil Native. It must have a back-lock, scales that are not black, a steel I want to try/use and it can't be an exclusive run. But more to the point, I am not even sure I need a...

Could not let this opportunity pass by me. Fluted TI Military acquirred ! Blade is warped but it's in excellent shape. I wonder if an older pre-stepped pivot Military could be a candidate for a blade swap. I think this is gonna be a mission of mine for the upcoming year ! https://i.imgur.com/Ht4eZG...

Re: Sage series collection - What's the next Sage?
Sage 2 in MagnaCut and Cruwear please or better yet maybe reintroduce the Domino in those steels. YES!!! Another vote for a Domino re-release! I’ve asked about this several times recently, either in its original form or the Domino 2 which has been mentioned previously. The Sage is a very nice model...

Re: Sage series collection - What's the next Sage?
Any new Sage variety is great! Would love a K390, but honestly will probably happily settle for the SPY27. Though a new lock variety would be best. And for those that missed out, I would most enjoy a Sage 2 re-release like they did with the Sage 1. Even if it is a Sprint run. My most desired Sage a...

IDK, honestly. I have six, all in different steels, and am not sure if 15V is any better than Maxamet.

I only have the Chef and the Swayback, but I am pretty sure I would enjoy the Bowie also.
I love the Chef also because it saved me a lot of money by not lusting so much after a Drunken. :-)

I don't blame Spyderco. The dollar is simply losing its purchasing power. I think it will get even worse.

WE could always buy a Native chief and do this, too : https://messerforum.net/threads/spyderco-native-custom-special-wip.145705/ You probably could, Robin. I would most definitely ruin a dozen or so knives, spend a significant amount on power tools and other equipment that I don't currently own, an...

Re: Native Scout?
Background: I own five Native 5's. I recently picked up a brown G10 / M390 Native Chief because I was wanting something a bit longer. The Chief is great, but it's a bit too long, and by not adding height to scales and blade the proportions are thrown off. I strongly prefer the bias toward closure o...

Re: Military Sprint Runs No More?
I just asked my local dealer to get me a Camo DLC Military. JIC, before they're gone too.
If I will have a DLC coated blade, let it be a Millie. Also, strangely, I don't have anything in my entire collection in S30V, which is a classic of the blade steel category.

Re: S110v to delicate more of a safe queen???
I microconvexed my S110V Military the first time it went dull and now, three or four sharpenings later, I can say I didn't have any problem with it.. The same goes for my maxamet PM2 amd P3 and a few other ones.
