Re: What would be the odds?

Maybe I need to handle a raven 2. I haven’t seen one in person, I handled a shaman and loved it. If the raven is similar I’ll have to look closer into into it. Thanks for the input on it!

Re: Bodacious Discussion

I am very hopeful that this leads to a similar model in a 3” blade. I love the step in direction. More great work and more evolution and diversity to you lineup.

What would be the odds?

I’m curious if there would ever be the chance of a Byrd variant of the shaman? Same ergos but I wouldn’t expect the compression lock. Give it a lock back so the price point stays low. Maybe there’s something similar that I’m not thinking of. I handled some birds and was really impressed, I also hand...

Re: Today I got…

Just a follow up, I have carried the wharncliffe delica every day since I got it and am hooked. It performs great! I use it at work and at home for everything from boxes, plastic straps and food. It’s done everything I’ve asked without skipping a beat. No issues with rust or any patina starting, I j...

Re: Today I got…

Ryder did you force a patina on it? The idea of a soaked cloth in a case makes sense, especially if you are out and about.

Re: Today I got…

Thanks for the info! If you are in Georgia and don’t have any real issue I should be fine in Illinois. It’s pretty humid here but it’s no Georgia. I live in Illinois and K390 works fine for me . Proper care of this steel is really simple , light wipe down occasionally . I forced patina on my K390 b...

Today I got…

Today o got my first knife in k390, first wharncliffe and first delica, all in one. Early impressions are great, I should have bought a delica a long time ago. I also got to handle a shaman for the first time, it was pretty awesome and is something will will go on the list to buy one day down the ro...

Re: Meadowlark and robin cqi

Makes sense, the cost would be hard to justify for a budget line, just something I was curious about, thanks Sal, keep up the good work!

Meadowlark and robin cqi

Are there currently any plans on improving the frn handles on the robin and meadowlark 2 to the level of the harrier 2? The chamfering and bidirectional texturing would make them an even greater option for a budget Spyderco product.

Budget line g10

I haven’t handled a g10 persistence or tenacious to this point some how. Does the g10 feel as grippy as that of the g10 on the native 5?

Re: Time for some different Byrd designs.

I would love to see more handle forward designs, something with a leaf shape blade. I would love to see something similar to a native 5 blade shape and handle without the choil. I don't love the use of forward choils on 3" blades. The Alcyone is on my next to buy list. I'm torn on that or spend...

G10 Byrd blade swaps

I was looking at the g10 Byrd lineup as a daily user at work. I noticed that there wasn’t a wharncliffe option In g10. Does anyone know if the blade would switch over from the wharncliffe frn to a g10 handled knife?

Re: What would you like to see next from Byrd?

I’d love to see some more lock types. Lockbacks do the job but they are far from my favorite. Maybe some trickle down from some of the other locks spyderco has made. Compression lock? I know that’s a reach, but I’d even like to see some more liner locks myself. Not everyone’s cup of tea but I like t...

Re: Is it time for an E5/D5?

If I where looking at a new delica I’d love to see a different list than most. I’m not a big fan of finger choils, as such I’d like to keep some models without. It would be cool to see it get more blade and lose some of the ricaso much like on the rock jumper, bring the blade back to the handle. Th...

Re: Sal—design for Roadie 2

A quick sketch. I like a little shape to the top of a sheep’s footie type blade. Stoney i love your draft. The straight back line and the blade shape are awesome. Thank you, I’m not very adept at drawing knives but the conversation got me into tryin lol. Super cool that we are able to bounce ideas ...

Re: Spyderco Custom Shop

I think they could do it without confusing sprint runs by only offering certain steels, bd1n, s30, 20cv and maybe an s90 or something higher end? Maybe have a different spyder laser mark on the blade so it’s be more obvious to to the buyers if someone sold one second hand.

Re: Serrated edge fans

Glad to see that there isn’t a huge list of premium steels, like k390 or the like. Those take a chunk from the wallet. Maybe this will be my first delica type knife. I know there’s a salt series that’s more or less a delica 4. Wharncliffe? A lot of good info there, thank you. Yes, the Salt 2 has a ...
