Re: 2022 Reveal — Stovepipe Thread C260TIP

Got it from spyderco.com as soon as I saw it was shipping. With Opfocus discount, it makes these expensive knives somewhat more palatable. Can't wait to get it in. It is so different than anything else I own, I figured I give it a try.

OpFocus Second sale

Is there any word on the seconds sale for OpFocus? I thought it was usually in May. I wonder if they are going to have it this year. if it is going to be local or online? I will probably not be able to fly put there if onsite this year but I would be interested if they did online like the larger sec...

Re: I don't understand automatics.

I own 2 Microtech automatics, one OTF and one side opening. I really like the knives. There is a cool and fun factor to deploying them, especially the OTF. The knives are both well made and I am glad I bought them. Neither one has a safety nor did I ever see a need for it. I can say they are easier ...

Re: Z-Wear Shaman: availability discussion & lookout thread

Wait what happened to the heads up notice that some said we would get on here? And what happened to the large numbers being produced to satisfy the needs of the customers? And no notice from the app? This ain't right.

In the past, the OpFocus seconds sale has taken place in early May. Of course, in person at SFO. :spyder:
Thanks, I look forward to attending one year.

We also do a seconds sale for "Save and Serve" professionals. (Law enforcement, military, fire fighters, first responders, etc).

Oh wow. I never heard of this seconds sale. Does anyone know when this generally takes place?

I'm kind of hoping early next year since I have spent far too much this year.
I hate to say it but I must agree. In my impatience of waiting for the Shaman , I ordered 2 Microtechs and a Carribean. Now I'm broke.

Re: Cruwear micarta Bushcraft/Proficient

I PMed this to GaryArt, then thought it might be useful here. I designed the sheath for deep carry of the BushcraftUK knife, its meant to go down a long way, and is based on the very widely used bushcraft knife pouch sheaths. Usually with veg-tan leather, these sheaths start out tight but loosen up...

Re: Cruwear micarta Bushcraft/Proficient

Hi GaryArt, Thanx for your input. At this time, my first recommendation would be to pull the plastic insert, as you did, and I did. Earlier in the thread, someone asked about a Kydex sheath.. I spoke with Christina yesterday about it and told her she could use my knife as a sample for making a shea...

Re: Cruwear micarta Bushcraft/Proficient

I know this thread is not really a review of the Proficient as it is today but more what is should be. Being this thread is what sparked my interest in the knife resulting in me purchasing it, I will give my initial impression and what "needs" to be changed. First the knife design is as cl...

Re: Cruwear micarta Bushcraft/Proficient

I can't believe you guys "made me" order the Proficient. Well that is at least what I telling my wife if she finds out I ordered another expensive knife. I needed a good fixed blade for camping and hiking. After all the good reviews, I just decided to go for it. I'm looking forward to it c...

Re: Reveal 6 - blacked out Autonomy 2’s (3).

What is your guys thoughts about PE, SE or CE in a knife like this? I used to be all about PE knives and just have gotten more into SE models. I was originally thinking maybe going for the CE version but it seems a lot of dislike for CE models out there. For this price i want to get the right one th...

Re: Z-Wear Shaman: availability discussion & lookout thread

Pretty sure they'll show up eventually. Yes I don't think it is a matter of if, just when. Spyderco still has quite a few knives to issue from reveal 5. But if you consider how Covid is effecting the manufacturing community, they are doing pretty **** good. My hopes with the Shaman is they have rea...

Re: Z-Wear Shaman: availability discussion & lookout thread

Change of plans. Took too long, now there's not going to be any Spyderco purchase from me for the next 6 months. Instead I was able to get the wife to agree on another totally not necessary but soooooo nice to have extravagance. So long... Cool. My chances of getting one just went up. 😂 Hey leave o...

Re: Blade discoloration

Thanks all. Yes it is really unnoticeable. I only saw it first when I oiled the knife and the spot had a rainbow effect. Once I cleaned it well, it became a blueish spot that you really had to look hard to see. My main thing was that it didn't effect the performance of the knife. You guys gave me mo...

Re: Blade discoloration

Looks like it may have been used once or twice then returned. It is always possible but I highly doubt it. As soon as I saw the blade discoloration I immediately looked over entire knife and blade with magnifying glass. It looks 100% unused. If this was a return, the last person opened it, saw the ...
