Re: Steeltoez83 testing log

Factory edge was quite dull so I tuned it up. Ended up with 220 on my sanding roll with my HIC mule.

Re: You got your Ceramic Mule. How you gonna sharpen it?

Normally I use a 1k super vit for testing. However I know very few ppl have that stone so I will be switching up to the spyderco cbn benchstone and recording the times. I'm still deciding on specifics so I have the ability and agility to adjust accordingly. On my sanding roll I got 220 cuts today. I...

Re: You got your Ceramic Mule. How you gonna sharpen it?

Right now I'm trying to identify a sharpness standard for testing that compares to my other stuff. The paper towel demo is just to showcase I have a good method to create a sharp edge which only took 2 minutes. I have more verification runs to do in order to make sure I have a solid foundation first.

Re: You got your Ceramic Mule. How you gonna sharpen it?

I'd like to retest my technique a second time just so I can articulate better if it's a valid approach or not Real testing always begins on the fourth edge anyways.

Re: Steeltoez83 testing log

I tested my buck and my griptilian today. The blunting pattern of the griptilian mirrored the same pattern from the sage. The data numbers are different, however I'm able to identify a trend between the 2. The sage s30v did out cut benchmades s30v. 40% of 250 is 100, and 20% of 250 is 50. My griptil...

Screenshot_20240425_084827_Gallery.jpg I forgot I had this sage rockwell tested. The average number for the pokes was 60.2. Therefore with the other s30v knives we can estimate based on the testing results what their hardness values are. Atleast to a closer degree. Id personally prefer s45vn on the...

I am not a member of the mule team army. Kinda sounded like the Mickey Mouse Club when I first heard about it.

I was never into racing cars. Just never appealed to me. Do whatever makes ya happy is the best way to live life. Hobbies are the best way to distract us enough so we are able to stay on the righteous path. Friends of mine sunk fortunes into their restoration projects all to impress others. And its ...

I've had the rare opportunity to work with some interesting type of ppl over the years. Understanding what and why they do what they do raises more questions than answers. I know enough about chemistry in the context of water treatment operations. One of my best friends that I work with has a master...

I work overnight currently so I have time to read, maybe not post. Alice was not in a vehicle when it happened. The driver either distracted or impaired drove off the road and plowed into her while she was walking on the sidewalk. It was a black pickup truck from what I was told. He drove off and ha...

Time was on my side and I was able to score 3 new mules bcuz they were available. I took off 6 or 8 months from testing and for once inflation had no effect on the price. Plus I am fortunate to have the chance to acquire them in the first place. Right now I need to focus on my hobbies to help cope w...

Never watched forged in fire. Altho most non knife friends always recommend it to me.

In the video I watched Mr Schempp mentioned rope was used back then. Nowadays it's an obstacle course.

In this particular case it's a 1k waterstone that requires soaking before use. I prefer that over splash and go style s...

Wow that many still available. I kinda wanted to get the spy27 mule next but having to throw out 8 grand for the emergency surgeries my wife needed has halted my knife budget. I sure hope I get to hear honest feedback from actual user experience with this one. Only 65 left now. And i also snagged t...

Screenshot_20240422_114428_Gallery.jpg That rectangle is the set range I use for the 1.5 inch rolls. Testing the buck 110 and the Cinco sage appear to be at the extreme ends of the spectrum. Now the spyderco version of s30v tested 290 on this sage. This buck was able to squeak its way to a score of...

The Cinco sage received a score of 290 today. The highest score I have ever given to s30v was 315.
