I finished up edge number 2 on the s290 shard earlier today. This edge stopped at 640 which is a subtle improvement. The front end sharpness reached 490.

How are you sharpening the serrations with the India stone? Using the corners of the stone? Freehand?
sal
Affirmative. I like the india fine (400) as a precursor to the medium (brown) benchstone. I feel like it delays swarf build up and reduces burnishing but thats just a theory of mine. I ...

Im taking my time with testing this edge on the leafjumper. So far 180 units of work, and the vg10 is still passing. I forecast failure around 260/270.

Re: Let's talk Mule Team quantities
I appreciate the opportunity to purchase these test mules, and have my input heard. Explaining to us the VOP- voice of the process is uncommon in many industries. The transparency, integrity, and the courage to pave new trails are what make spyderco 1 of a kind.

I can only test finished products with a standardized test. Variation within the way serrations are produced are beyond my control. With several samples tested i think I am representing a fuller picture.

One of the hardest things on cutting utensils I have had to cut is this Kevlar woven roven that you glass in areas.
I was using it in the Transom of boats to better buildup the area where the engine is bolted to the boat. That stuff is really thick and hard to cut.
Funny thing is the first ...
