Re: Knife that screams liner lock got the compression lock - why?
..... The unfortunate disadvantages of this design style are that it creates a hot spot where your hand grips the single scale and the knife cannot be readily opened with the left hand . Stay safe, Mike Thanks for bringing that up on behalf of southpaws, Mike. Although most of us have eventually le...

Re: Hawkbill Lil Native *now with picture
That's a nice collection of hawkbills you got there! I must admit that my only experience with a Spyderco hawkbill so far is a Dragonfly 2 Salt Hawkbill SE...I know it's not a good sample size, but based on my experience it's been a hit or miss with the EDC tasks I usually put my knives to. That's ...

Re: G-10 Hawkbill Anyone?
Well Zrow... After 3-ish years on the forum, I just now understands the meaning of ZrowsN1s. Nice. :smirk 01010101 a silly reference to my IT job. A more conventional spelling like ZerosAndOnes was already taken when I was picking my username. I honestly don't know why I didn't stick with the user ...

Re: Hawkbill Lil Native *now with picture
Unabashed LN fan here but I think my enthusiasm stops at a hawkbill design. The LN Wharnie already fulfills that for me. But I won't stomp on this idea at all and I'm curious as to where this discussion will lead to. 👍🏻 Admittedly Hawkbill users are an even more niche groupe than Wharncliffe users....

Re: Can we get some Ultem scaled Sekis please?
There's a reason you never see a used knife pic with it, including in this thread. It scratches and looks horrible (not what you want for a transparent material), and it cracks easily. For example: https://www.reddit.com/r/EDC/comments/125rws1/pretty_bummed_anyone_else_have_this_issue_with/ https:/...

Re: Sal, a handle forward Lil Native?
Please make it a wharnie though if possible like the Rockjumper and the LN wharnie. Microjimbo has entered the chat. Could a leaf/drop point blade be put on the more neutral handle shape of the microjimbo? Or is the microjimbo handle only capable of supporting the low tip placement of a wharncliffe...

Re: Knifejoy Exclusive...Slysz Bowie??!!
The sticker refers to the Slysz Bowie being (in many people’s opinion) the Spyderco GOAT (greatest of all time). As much as I am loud (too loud, perhaps) on bringing back the OG Bowie with the new improvements (which technically, would make it a "new"/different Bowie than the OG, if that'...

Re: Sal, a handle forward Lil Native?
I have all locktypes of the `lil Native and I wouldn't mind if it's a backlock.
Please make it a wharnie though if possible like the Rockjumper and the LN wharnie.

Re: Anyone else hoping for a 15V Wharncliffe Lil Native?
One design aspect that makes the WLN work for me, compared to other similar sized Wharncliffe Spydies, is the lack of a thumb ramp. I feel that I can make more precise cuts with the WLN because of this.

Re: Anyone else hoping for a 15V Wharncliffe Lil Native?
I find the relative lack of interest in the Lil Native Wharnie remarkable. I like mine a lot but do not feel the need for upgraded steel personally. I wouldn't say no though!! If I could magically turn all my lil native leaf blades to wharnies, I would. That's what I thought when I got my WLN too. ...

Re: Anyone else hoping for a 15V Wharncliffe Lil Native?
Me, me, ME! I maybe in the minority, but I really feel that the Wharncliffe Lil' Native is the penultimate LN design. Really works well as an all-around EDC knife. Looks gorgeous too. I wonder why dealers haven't made exclusives for this one yet (probably looking at sales numbers vs the OG LN, but w...

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2024 Report
Never thought we'd see the day where BBB and Mike Janich's logos would be on the same blade - but here we are, and it is glorious. The MJ logo looks like it's punching the BBB logo. Or driving a rapier, a stick, or a slim jim into the mouth of the BBB bear... whatever it is, definitely cannot be un...

Re: Will the PM2 Tanto become a regular production model (please)?
This has been a contentious topic a couple of years ago or so, with many forumers arguing over the merits of limiting this blade shape to a dealer exclusive. On a side note, the PM2 Tanto is a bit heavier than a regular PM2 and a bit closer to the weight of a Manix 2 (exclusive), so if weight is you...

Re: Knifejoy Exclusive...Slysz Bowie??!!
IMO the Slysz Bowie goes well with FOMO, but if it was always available it wouldn't be sough after that much. Agreed. The knife is, objectively, nothing special, and falls short of other knives in its price range. FOMO is the primary driver in all this. I'd readily agree with the FOMO sentiment, if...

Re: Knifejoy Exclusive...Slysz Bowie??!!
But the fact remains, the Bowie continues to sell out 2 runs into its KJ iteration, which many people would deem inferior to the OG version. How much more if an OG Bowie with the new improvements would be in demand among afis everywhere. I just don't get the reason that it didn't sell as good as it ...

Re: Knifejoy Exclusive...Slysz Bowie??!!
Still doesn't explain why Spyderco doesn't do another run of the original, especially with the updated hardware. 2 runs of the KJ exclusive and it sold out fast, what proof does the company need more? People in this forum and all over social media have been asking for YEARS already to bring back the...

Acquired a lightly used Schempp Rock from a fellow afi. It arrived today and I put it to work right away. schempp_rock_02.jpg Is this from Derek's? Yes. Great catch. I was actually eyeing this one for many years now but never managed to get onto buying it. Great price too...last time I checked he w...
