Amen to that! I keep buying her nice knives, so she hasn't left me yet.

Re: Anyone use a safety razor?
How's the Henson treating you? Superbly, I assume. Now, you can try different brands of blades and jump down the rabbit hole with us. The good thing is that blade sampler packs don't cost much at all. It’s excellent! My wife bought me a massive pack of replacement blades, so it might be a year befo...

Re: Spyderco toy ?
Someone should alert Amazon. We finally have a Spyderco product that’s an actual toy containing an actual marble.

Re: Sprig Re-run
I would buy two: one for me and one for my father. I wanted to get one when they were originally on the market, but by the time I had the money, they were all sold out. LC200N or MagnaCut (as Ashton says) would be idea for a fishing knife. I’d prefer MagnaCut, I suppose, since I already own a Waterw...

Re: Native chief with compression lock?
I would certainly be interested in a compression lock version. I own three Native 5’s (lined G10 S110V, lightweight S110V, and Salt variations). The Native has the best designed and executed back-lock of any knife I’ve ever used, but when I bought my L’il Native, I went with the compression lock, pa...

Re: Liking 20CV
Agreed. My favorite EDC is the DLT Trading Company Para-Military 2 with a red handle and M390 steel (the original steel that 20CV was modeled on). I have several 20CV knives, but none of them are Spydercos. Knife Steel Nerds has a great article about this line of steels: https://knifesteelnerds.com/...

Re: Martial Arts Experiences Discussion Thread
Aikido was my first martial art back in the mid-'90s (though I've mainly practiced Jeet Kune Do and Jiu-Jitsu for the past couple of decades). My Aikido instructors, David Shaner (in the U.S.) and Koichi Tohei (in Japan) talked a lot about ki (気/氣; or qi in Chinese, as you mention above). Shaner and...

Re: Coming together to find Middle Ground. Delica/Endela/Endura Handles. One Groove to rule them all.?
I'm not sure how my comments about modifying the Goddard handle design came across as insulting, but if I inadvertently offended anyone, I apologize. Since Spyderco uses Constant Quality Improvement (CQI) as one of its driving business philosophies, I thought that constructive commentary about how t...

The Stretch does a good job of incorporating a choil into the guard area without creating a snag hazard. It also has a more neutral handle shape without finger grooves.

Re: Coming together to find Middle Ground. Delica/Endela/Endura Handles. One Groove to rule them all.?
I like the Endura handle, but I have XL hands with skinny fingers, so I know others who are built differently might have a different experience. Once of my favorite Spyderco handles was on the Goddard lightweight, since it had a nice guard to prevent the hand from slipping up on the blade, but was o...

Re: Anyone use a safety razor?
My wife bought me a Henson AL13 about 3 weeks ago and its the best razor I've ever used. I have a thick beard and sensitive skin (and to make matters worse, my neck is always getting chewed up by collar-chokes in Jiu-Jitsu). This razor gives me the least irritation and closest shave I've ever experi...

Re: Martial Arts Experiences Discussion Thread
I think the quality of Krav Maga and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is largely dependent on the gym and instructor(s). I've been studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2005 and I've been fortunate to train in a variety different schools in multiple states. Many schools emphasize sport grappling or vale tudo (no-ho...

Re: Packing Tape vs Blade
Another trick I have with minimizing tape residue on blades is: you don't actually need to cut the entire length of the tape. If you just get a cut started and then open the box, the tape will easily tear the rest of the way. I do the same thing. I pry up the cardboard flap with my fingertips and b...

Re: Adjusting Pacific Salt 2 Centering
I had the same problem with my Pacific Salt 2 in plain-edge LC200N (though my fully-serrated LC200N and H1 versions have always been perfectly centered). These two centering methods have worked for me on a variety of different knives: (1) https://youtu.be/knxdb8orZwQ (2) https://youtu.be/ka2jqHy-L8k...
