Re: Delica 4 tang notch changes
Swapped the brass backspacer in and it didn’t improve the action. I have to think that the prior owner who says the knife is Like New, must have done a swap and mixed up the lockbar and/or spring. I’m pretty good at moving the parts over with the blade when I do my own swaps. Otherwise this particul...

Re: Delica 4 tang notch changes
If you want to improve the action you could always fit a titanium (or other metal) back spacer. Not a ure that would help here. Unless you think the spring is getting sloppy in the plastic backspacer? I’ve swapped this blade into a few different factory scales and it’s the same problem. But...for t...

Re: Delica 4 tang notch changes
That cutout doesn't affect the close. The strength of the closing action is determined by the spring strength and the shape of the tang at the opposite end - where the lockbar is touching right before the blade is fully closed. Correct. Worth noting, if you switch blades, you should swap the lockba...

I agree with this as well. Though, OP, it appears your ZDP tang bottom ...

Re: Delica 4 tang notch changes
It’s installed correctly. I swap scales and blades around on Delicas almost daily. This specific one’s lockbar is slightly different as is the notches than any other Delica in my collection. Noticed the softer close when I first got it. I’m pretty sure it’s the cutout difference that’s not providing...

Delica 4 tang notch changes
Picked up a ZDP-189 Sabre Delica in BRG and noticed the detent was weaker than my other models, including my VG-10 Sabre. Upon further inspection I noticed the cutouts in the tang where the lock bar engages are quite different. ZDP has a flatter cutout while the VG10 (and all others in my collection...

Re: Manix LW Rex45 Issues
Update: Sold the stiff Manix LW in question with full disclosure and video of multiple open/closing. Naturally sold for a loss. Grabbed another one and asked for video support in the purchase to check it’s action. The new Rex Manix LW is a 180 experience from the first. Smooth action and can actuall...

Re: Manix LW Rex45 Issues
I’ll start by saying I’m in love with my Maxamet Manix LW...probably my favorite knife I own. Added the Rex45 LW to the family a couple months back and it hasn’t been the same experience. Firstly, it clicks upon deployment...right as it first deploys. Kind of annoying, but I can live with it. The m...

Re: Manix LW Rex45 Issues
There’s actually resistance on deployment and closing. So much resistance that I have to aggressively swing the blade to close it. YES! My Manix 2 LW REX 45 BINDS UP EXACTLY as you describe. The problem is that there is insufficient clearance in the travel of the ball cage. The ball reaches the lim...

Re: Manix LW Rex45 Issues
Sorry to hear that.. :( In my case it's just the other way round: My REX 45 Manix LW has the smoothest action of all Manixes I've ever handled (tbh not too many: 3 LW and 2 or 3 G10). From several recent posts I got the impression that there is more variation concerning the action among the LW than...

Re: Manix LW Rex45 Issues
Mine is exactly the same. I have two other manix lightweights that are as they should be. One was a little tight out of the box but loosened up over a few days. My rex 45 m2lw is noticeably tighter than the others. It broke in a little bit, but is not close to the others in terms of blade action. I...

Re: Wharncliffe's
Huge wharncliffe fan! The Delica Wharnie is the model I drool over and use the most. Excited to hear Sal’s comments and look forward to any new grind variant of the blade shape.

Re: Rockjumper vs. Delica Wharncliffe
I’m a huge Delica fan...especially the wharncliffe versions. Obviously intrigued to give the RJ a try. The one drawback for me, that’s been mentioned before is the lack of jimping behind the spydie hole. I use the Delica’s jimping for power cuts and control. If that was there I’d have already ordere...

Re: Delica Wharnie Exclusives...MOARRR!!
I like wharncliffes. I like delicas. My only wharncliffe “Delica” is my SE salt 2. I’ll prolly hold out for the lc200n/green combo to happen. The salt 2 wharncliffe and the cru wear Delica are definitely 2 of my favorites. That’s the sabre wharnie, correct? I grabbed the salt wharnie in PE mainly f...

Delica Wharnie Exclusives...MOARRR!!
I’ll start by saying that I’m a huge Delica fan. The wharncliffe variants are kind of next level for the knife, in my opinion. However there’s only 2 exclusives/sprints released so far (Hap40 & s30v). I don’t think I’m alone in saying that more releases would be appreciated. There’s been such gr...

How cool would a TiCN wharnie blade be in a delica? Even better, a hollow grind TiCN wharnie...we can dream, can’t we?

Re: Coming back to the plain Delica 4 after experiencing the entire lineup
Wow...this is the same realization I’ve made recently. I have big *** hands, too and can get all 4 fingers around one, no problem. Fallen for the wharncliffe variant this time around. Wouldn’t mind some new premium steel options for the wharnie. The delica just works for my uses. Lightweight, disapp...
