Is this true?: Carbides “melting” upon heat treat

I read on a discussion that low carbide steels like 5160 or 420J have few carbides prior to heat treat and that, depending on heat treat, the few they have can “melt” into the steel matrix upon heat treat... This was described as quite good for rougher use, since my understanding is carbides are har...

Re: Practical vs. Tactical?

Tactical for me means “fighting”, but the border with “survival” is somewhat porous. Re: Favorite movie fight scenes

Another one for chocolate: World class. The fluidity of her motions is incredible... The scale of it is over the top, but not jarring. The newer one that also stars a woman: Second to final scene of atomic blonde... That movies other scenes are not as good. The unique thing about atomic blonde is th...

Re: What has become of Bladeforums?

When Cliff Stamp was banned I think the informational value of BF dropped, but maybe I shouldn't say that, since he was banned here too... *EDITED - Cliff Stamp has never been banned here. He is and always has been welcome on our forum. - TazKristi* I have to say I did find their Busse subforum to b...
