TSA Found Out What Futility Is
I was flying out of a US airport the other day and I left my jacket on going through the TSA checkpoint. Others had theirs on, so why take mine off? I tossed all my stuff in the tub to send through their scanner, stepped up to get zapped myself, when the TSA lady told me to take the jacket off. (I w...

Re: Spymyto is hot!
I love that Spyderco numbers the flash batch knives. I think the prospect of getting a cool serial number is something fun to chase, kind of like getting a rare trading card in a pack of cards. Numbers like 0001/2000 or 2000/2000 would be super cool, in my opinion. So many other potential numbers t...

Re: Spymyto is hot!
What I'm saying is that is is not hollow ground, and I was wondering why. It's not, I've asked to every people that got one already and it's flat ground :( I was excited too, only for the high hollow grind + M398 combo ! Edit : I see the confusion, when I wrote Myto I was referring to the original ...

Re: Magnetic blade??
Is it martensitic steel or austenitic steel?
https://www.thyssenkrupp-materials.co.u ... l-magnetic
I've noticed I can put blades near each other and sometimes they're attracted to each other.
Me, I'm generally attracted to PM 2's.

Re: Good second Spyderco
Welcome to the Forums, Joel. Do you have any experience in any of the following fields? Spyderco has what they call their OpFocus Program where they give a very hefty discount to: Active Duty Military Reservist / National Guard Military Veteran / Retiree Law Enforcement Officer Paramedic / Fire Resc...

I'll be busy the second weekend in May, so I'm hoping they don't schedule it for then. But it certainly won't be the end of the world.

Re: Crucarta, what's going on?
Well here's an outlier in the data. I own two CruCarta PM2's and they're both smooth opening and closing, and have been for years since they were released. It could be due to living at the same altitude/temp/humidity as Spyderco. I don't know where the OP lives but it might make a difference. I will...

Re: 2024 OpFocus Seconds Sale?
As I recall, within the past few years, the OpFocus sale actually floated into June once. It was due to Spyderco taking their wares out to other knife/outdoor/military/first responder shows in May.

Hackers phishing for info. I delete them every day without opening. If you do not know the sender do not open the SMS or email, mark as spam and delete. If it seems like you know who it is, a company or human, do not click on any links. Read the message, and if it seems fishy, delete it, do not res...

Re: Where Artificial Intelligence Is Right Now
I’d like to pose a question to you folks on a message from a company I received. I really wonder if it was a canned AI response. I received an email last year from a well known company about my account. I don’t have an account with this company. They must be aware of bogus accounts being set up usin...

Re: Serial # stamp/laser engraving on tang of Manix??
Yes, I’ve seen that on my Spyderco tangs, too. I have an unscientific theory that the blades were made in September of 2023 on the first, (A,) and second (B) shift. Manufacturers (not speaking for Spyderco) will use codes or markers in their products to document when it was made. If there’s a defect...
