Re: Kitchen knives?

I've got a 4.5" Utility knife, 2 Counter Puppies, (one PE, one SE,) a Z-Cut PE, 2 Mule Teams, (PD1, SPY 27,) , and an Itamae Petty. I find the Utility knife gets pulled out of the drawer most of the time. Its blade is very slim, so it doesn't try to steer itself through meat, vegetables, or fruit. I...

Re: I switched to raven2 for the business/ ranch

I’m carrying my Raven 2 today. (along with that other one)

When I got my Raven 2 I took it apart, cleaned it, and lubed it up with a dab of lithium grease on the plastic washers. I thought of looking for phosphor bronze washers for it, but since I put it back together it’s fine with the OEM washers.

A Benchmade Osborne and a Case Texas Jack.
That 940 is beautiful! Never seen that iteration before.
The 940 is a Bass Pro/Cabela’s (Bassela’s ?) exclusive. They’re carbon fiber/Dymondwood w/ D2 steel. The model number is: 940-1601.

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???

I found a used, older, very clean, partially serrated, D2 bladed Mini Grip in a store today. Seeing as though I run a home for wayward black D2 bladed Benchmades I just had to bring it home. ;)

Which Knife vendor is your favorite and why. The Spyderco Factory Outlet. 1) The crew that work there are great! 2) I live 23 miles, (37 km,) away from it; even closer when I'm coming home from work. 3) They have the Op Focus program for Vets. 4) They put up with me. I'm by there so often they've s...

Re: How long have you been carrying knives, and how have your needs changed?

I got my first couple of Delicas in the early to mid '90's. The Delicas were handy because I could pull it from my pocket, use it, and re-pocket it one handed while at work. I was working at different heights above the ground hanging on with the other hand. I usually had a small Buck pen knife or SA...

For the most part the two cats don't care what I buy. The Torbie will push "toys" off the countertop in order to play with them. She scored a hole in one recently by pushing a Native 5/Maxamet off the counter right into their water bowl down on the floor, then she gave me that wide eyed, "uh oh" loo...

True...Americans still read...classic literature is falling out of fashion tho. In my own defense, the last book read was Larrin Thomas' Knife Engineering. The characters were thin, but the plot was great.

I thought the edges were thin and the composition was great. ;)
