Re: Removing or modifying bi-directional texturing?

Has anyone tried this? I’m looking to use a PM3 Lynch clip on a Salt 2 as I want a mini deep Cary clip. It fits fine but it hits the textured part of the handle and is doing damage to my pocket.

Sand?
Melt?
Epoxy?

Anyone smoothed out a small section like this successfully?

Re: What is it that sets a good knife apart from a great one?

Every spyderco I’ve ever owned or tried has been a good knife. I’ve never used one that was a “dud” or felt cheap. Good design, baseline level of materials, quality control is high, etc. What makes it great is the intangibles which includes things like color pallet, perceived value for the $, and wh...

Re: Spyderco Standard Clip vs. Lynch vs. MXG Gear

Lynch clips are great and very well made. Highly recommended. The only issue I have with aftermarket deep carry clips for The Delica handle is they appear much “longer” because the top starts at the top of the knife and the bottom reaches to the smooth part of the scales. It’s perfect from a functio...

I'm not seeing the advantage of retooling an FRN model in Golden? FRN Tooling is very expensive, especially in the US.

Thanks Sal - helps me to understand the reason.

Re: Expand Golden, CO made offerings?

Just to clarify, I have a couple Seki city made Spydercos and have no issue buying Japan made. It’s more that I’m looking to expand my collection and would like to do that with Golden made. I might not have asked the question correctly. The Native Salt is LC200N and Golden made. An Atlantic Salt 2 i...

Expand Golden, CO made offerings?

Hi all, Is there any precedence or plans for Spyderco moving production from overseas to Golden, CO? There are a number of Spydercos I’d really like to try, but I’m limiting myself to USA made atm. Chaparral, Sage, Delica, Endela, etc. Related, is there specific criteria like steel or model that bas...

Re: PRICING

I realized my posts may have come off as a bit harsh. It wasn’t the intent. There are specific spydercos that are great values. Para 3 LW @ $98 vs BM Bugout @ $127. I don’t think there is a better value (considering quality & price) for a USA made knife than the para 3 lw. Both knives are nice, ...

Re: PRICING

I don’t mind paying a bit more for Spyderco given their quality and purpose built offerings (Salt). I would gladly pay a few $ more for a Golden made knife. However, there is something that makes Spyderco overpriced. . . *the lack of deep carry pocket clip*. For most models I need to add another $2...

Re: PRICING

Hi Skx013K, Welcome to our forum. Thanx for the suggestions, but perhaps I can offer another point of view. These aftermarket makers developed, built and promoted a product as an accessory to our knives. We are honored that they would extend their time and effort to create something that the custom...

Re: What knife would you recommend?

I’ve gone down a similar path. One caveat is I wanted an all around knife that would be for outdoor use (gardening, hiking), fishing (including around salt water), and potentially rescue (cutting away tangled rope or wader straps) - a tool. I’ve owned a Dragonfly Salt, Delica combo-edge, Native 5 Sa...
